Wilderness Lessons - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole

Bible Verses: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

"Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."

Reflect and Respond:

Hopefully, you don't have to eat a field mouse today. But you may be facing other hardships. God asks us to give Him thanks, in these times of struggle. Why? One reason is because our act of thanksgiving helps us voice, and deepen our trust in God.

Father, I give You thanks today, knowing that You are close, You are with me in all my struggles. And You will be with me forever. Thank You for the hope I have in Your resurrection power. Amen.

"I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said" John 1:22,23 "Among you stands one you do not even know, even "he who comes after me; the straps of whose sandals I am not worthy to untie"John1:26,27
Great reminder! Thanks! Needed this today as I'm in lots of pain! But God... He is with me and I will thank Him for the trial.
Sometimes by being brought to our knees through difficulties and hardships is what brings us closer to the Lord. We have many accounts if this in the Bible. It may be a Book that is thousands of years old, but still so very relevant today. Especially during these critical times that we are living in. Thanks so much for your comment
Thank you, Joey. I was surprised that more folks didn't pick up on your comment and reply. Thank you for Strength and Honesty, Brother. Exhortation is a part of our responsibilities as God's Children. May He Bless you in your efforts to Serve Him
You are the Righteousness of God in Christ. Cast your burdens in the Lord. This is a Spiritual battle and all of God's children are being effected during these times. You are not alone. We must Pray for one another and unite with each other, for Strength, Counsel, and Comfort. May our Heavenly Father Bless us and protect us. And He Will. Keep the Faith, Friend
What a wonderful lesson is being taught here - one on being joyful in the face of difficulties and disappointments - and one in which we are being encouraged to continue trusting in God; to be thankful, and to be contented in whatever circumstance we may be in.
Sarah I agree that is the reason for, the version read here is not the same as written as is to be. Thus I Thank you for saying what I was thinking but didn't want to offend, yet forgetting to call out sin when it is seen as you did. Thank You for again I agree with you.
Thank you
I am glad to be happy in the Lord, thankful that he has paid the price for my sin.
For me right now I'm going through a difficult time because of my anxiety over friendships of mine and I am a hypersensitive person. These emotional feelings are overwhelming and often lead me to either anger or lust as a release. I know its sin. I hate it after its done. I need godly discipline my life and learn to rejoice in God instead of resorting to sinful dead-ends. If I remind myself and believe in my heart and God is truly close to me, then I should rejoice because the almighty is in my life.
Thank you
Even though God's Word tells us how it would be in these Last Days, it can be really tough to get through some of them, even with Him by our side. I have no idea how people of the world who do not walk by His side cope in this world. I cannot imagine trying to navigate through these times without Him. I really can't.
Excellent point. We should be careful which source we read from. Wording HAS been changed in some translations from the original Greek and Hebrew words and can change the readers interpretation. Several translations have left words out, also. Even the Lord's Prayer, in the Gospels. It should say, "Our Father, who art in Heaven". Many translations say simply, "Our Father". This is an omission of the Words of God. It is our responsibility to seek out the Truth. The Bible tells us so. Thank you for your most excellent and relevant comment, Joey. Thank You. It IS important
The new Bible app doesn't work to change to KJV or NKJV or any other unless you sign up. The other did allow us as this verse is not as in KJ or NKJV Just wanted to let someone know. Thank you for I read only from Those two written versions.
Thank you God for being with me forever.
Thank father for being with me in the storms of life ! Forgive me when I lash out in frustration and anger for all the injustices done by our people in high offices ! Help me to focus on you ! In Jesus name I pray Amen ✝️🙏🇺🇸
Thank you for the inspiration. There is always a reason to be thankful.

And we can get through this time we are in this country job loss health losses family losses mental health on the uphill divorces anger issues that evoke a lot of this then we can look at God and say thank you Lord even though thank you Lord even though
