Reflect and Respond:
Hopefully, you don't have to eat a field mouse today. But you may be facing other hardships. God asks us to give Him thanks, in these times of struggle. Why? One reason is because our act of thanksgiving helps us voice, and deepen our trust in God.
Prayer:
Father, I give You thanks today, knowing that You are close, You are with me in all my struggles. And You will be with me forever. Thank You for the hope I have in Your resurrection power. Amen.

Great reminder! Thanks! Needed this today as I'm in lots of pain! But God... He is with me and I will thank Him for the trial.
What a wonderful lesson is being taught here - one on being joyful in the face of difficulties and disappointments - and one in which we are being encouraged to continue trusting in God; to be thankful, and to be contented in whatever circumstance we may be in.
