Wait with God - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole

Bible Verses: Psalm 62:5-6

"Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken."

Reflect and Respond:

Today think about waiting WITH God. His delays are not His denials.

Father, You are so faithful. I call on You today to help me know Your presence and wait with You in hope because You alone are my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken! Amen.

Yes, Jesus is my Rock. Sometimes waiting can be hard, but I just need to let go and let God take care of me.

I appreciate your honesty. And there’s no easy answer. There’s no one single answer. But since I’ve been where you’re at, I can at least make suggestions. I don’t know your circumstances, but here are some thoughts anyway: You can never go wrong by helping others. It will do them good and you too. There are lots of volunteer opportunities out there for al sorts of things. Filling your time with things which are others-centered can ease the burden of the waiting. His timing has never failed to be spot on. Be careful to guard your mind as you wait by staying away from those things or people which may only fuel impatience or discontentment. If it’s not possible to do that because of circumstances, then when those feelings start to rise up, shut them down by giving thanks to God for His perfect timing, for seeing from an unlimited vantage point, and/or for ANYthing you have to be thankful for. Turn your thoughts toward Him and toward others - and you’ll find you’ll have much less time to think about what you’re waiting for.
