Turn Away - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verses: Psalm 37:8

“Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper—it only leads to harm."

Reflect and Respond:

Who wins when you lose your temper? Who is honored? What is your plan for the next time you feel your temper rising? Hey, I'd be happy to hear your comments!

Father, thank You for Your reminder today that an out-of-control temper only does harm. I know that You are in control of every situation and I ask for Your strength to remember that fact and to release my anger to Your control. Amen

I struggle with anger while I am driving. I get angry when people drive slow or pull out in front of me or leave a green light too slowly. It is so hard for not to show my frustration by making hand signals. I live in a large city and I know that road rage and shootings are an all too common occurrence here. Lord Jesus, please help me to change my attitude and my thoughts when I am in the car. I have no need to be in a hurry which only leads me to be angry. Help me go be patient with others so that I will not be the cause of a car accident or even worse. Lord Jesus, please heal me of my anger.

My Lord Jesus, I thank You that as I struggle with my weaknesses, one of which is my tendency to be angry, I realize that my behaviour, if uncontrolled, can lead to harm. I confess that I am not able to control my emotions at every turn, and so Lord, I ask for Your divine help to curb my temper in my moments of anger.

We are human so anger is an emotion we do feel, it does not have to lead us to sin! When that anger comes stop look up and pray. Give it to Jesus He will lead us to show how to reply. Easily just as Jesus would, we must remember no matter what we are doing...we do it for The Glory of Jesus Christ.
Remember everything we do we should remember we are doing it for Jesus to become more like Him.

Thank Heavenly Father for helping me/us to remember we are to do all things for You not of ourselves or the world but for You. I Thank You Lord for leading me back to where I belong right next to Your side, in Jesus Mighty name Amen
