The Usual Suspects - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole

Bible Verses: Proverbs 19:19

“Hot-tempered people must pay the penalty. If you rescue them once, you will have to do it again."

Reflect and Respond:

Why do you think the word "hot" is used in context with someone's temper? How can you help keep your cool, or encourage someone else to do so today?

Prayer:

Father, if anyone has a right to be angry, it's You. Yet, You've chosen to offer me grace and mercy. Help me to do likewise for the people I meet at home, at work, and in my walk today. Amen.

What I need to do is check my actions at the door.
Really important reminder! Thank you.
Super message to affirm with scripture. With teaching conflict resolution, there are techniques to use , such as: count to ten, which allows time to think before you fire back, try to grasp their perspective, show that you are listening to them by asking a relevant question calmly. God gives us tools.
Thank you for reminds me this word. I need to reléase my life completely to the Lord.
Don't tell me to "CALM DOWN"! Seriously though, this is a great reminder that our own actions can be a big part of the problems we face.
Thanks Mark!! This was a great reminder - To think before I act. Appreciate the encouragement
Thanks Mark. I need a reminder to stay cool. Great to hear what God has to say.
I think about this as a parent. When I get upset at “childish” behavior again and again...and again. Like you said. They are just being kids but something else is triggering me and I let it come out at them. Thanks, Mark, for reminding me to look in the mirror! Great message!
Thanks Mark! I never thought of myself as an angry person until I had kids. I can sometimes get in a crazy cycle where I get angry at something they say or do and then that get angry at me and I can get worked up pretty quick. Thanks to wisdom from the Bible and from my wife, I've learned to use self control because of God's Spirit working in me. I can choose to be a peacemaker and end the cycle.
Great insight Mark!
