The Importance of Focus - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Philippians 2:1-3

“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”

Reflect and Respond:

Does your focus need to be redirected? How might you focus on helping someone see Jesus at work in their life today?

Prayer:

Father, please open my eyes as I turn my focus to You. Help me see again Your grace and mercy, Your love for me, and help me share that with others today. Let me offer Your love, comfort, sympathy and encouragement, all in the name of Your Son. Amen.

Lord Jesus, I know if there is any joy to be found, if there is any comfort in the Spirit, if there is any bowels of compassion and if there is any tender loving care to be enjoyed, I can find them all in You. You are my complete Saviour. Amen.

Unity Through Humility
2 Therefore if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, 2 fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. 3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

“The pure love of Christ is expressed as we give selfless service. Helping one another is a sanctifying experience which exalts the receiver and humbles the giver. It helps us become true disciples of Christ.”

“Jesus performed the service immediately with just the resources he had—spit and mud and a desire to help. … Sometimes we think we can’t serve because we’re not rich enough, not educated enough, not old enough, or not young enough. Remember, if we have the desire to serve, then our bare hands, a little spit, and a little dirt are enough to make a miracle.”

Father I still Believe in You Bless us to live as You lived and remain to live in us. To lead with Your Love in all things remember we are to lay down our lives for friends brother's and Sisters in your Gracious Blessed name Jesus I Pray Amen
