The Blame Game - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verses: Matthew 7:1-5

"Do not judge others, and you will not be judged. For you will be treated as you treat others. The standard you use in judging is the standard by which you will be judged. "And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye."

Reflect and Respond:

Is there a log that needs to be dislodged from your eye? Ask God to help you with this today.

Father, please forgive me for any thoughtless ways. Help me see myself truthfully knowing the grace You have extended to me. Help me see others as You see them, and share Your grace and truth with them in love, according to your word. Amen.

Last night I found out something about a family I had been praying for and wanted to give up on them, and then the Lord reminded me of something within our own family, and the prayers that continued for us through that time. I thank you Lord for your mercy and for your Holy Spirit which continues to guide and direct me when I tend to get off track. And thank you Lord for these devotionals and Bible teachings, I am a very grateful recipient.
