Stand By Me - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Psalm 46:1-2, 10

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. So we will not fear when earthquakes come and the mountains crumble into the sea....'Be still, and know that I am God!'”

Reflect and Respond:

Today, take in all of Psalm 46. What do you learn? Will the song, "Stand By Me" have a slightly different meaning for you going forward?

Father, You are the God who stands by me, through times of trouble and the chaos of our world. Yet, You tell me to be still and know that You are God. Help me to rest in Your name, Your power, and Your promises. Let my life be a life that displays Your peace. Amen.

Thank You Lord for being my very present help in trouble and the One who is always concerned about my welfare. Train Your eyes upon me Lord Jesus, for I become afraid as those mountains around me come tumbling down. And yet, Your Word to me is that I should not be afraid because You are with me always.

To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of the sons of Korah. A Song for Alamoth.

46 God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
