Serve, Pass, Set, Kill! - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole

Bible Verse: James 1:19-20

“Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.”

Reflect and Respond:

Quick to listen. Slow to speak. Slow to get angry. How can you remember and implement these godly words today?

Prayer:

Father, as anger swirls around me in this world, I ask that You would help me be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry that I might represent You righteously and build relationships rather than tear them down. I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Your Word is clear: when i get angry, I cannot serve You righteously. So, help me Lord to be quick to hear but slow to speak especially when I think I have a point to make.
This is one I need to remember
Yes! I will. I'm not good at this.
I turned my anger over toGod.
Lord Jesus, kill every spirit of anger in me
Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” “The scriptures can light our way, and our testimonies can be a light from within. … We can kneel at the feet of our Savior just as literally as the shepherds and the Wise Men, but we do it in prayer.” Let Jesus be your Anchor in all things when the anger comes let Faith and Hope answer.

Very good, helpful.
Great points! For me especially:)
Very helpful; thank you!
I have been speaking this Scripture over and over because I have a short temper and am always looking to “put people in their place”. Although I may be responding to some type of injustice from another person, it is MY Pride and Selfishness that causes me to get angry and lash out. I Pray that I will be gentle, humble and compassionate in all Situations. In Jesus’ Glorious Name! Amen
This is something we all know we shouldn't do have a angry thought of fearful thought frustration thought I thought that comes across our lips so quickly we can't even ascertain it even after we read the Bible Even after we go to church even after we pray with someone those things come out we ask God to let the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts to be acceptable and nice sight or Lord is trying to not redeemer instead of watching my mouth to keep a door to my lips and kind of wake away in me and leave me in my way everlasting and also James chapter 3 about the tongue well I've read that nice to hate that passage cuz I have a big mouth and I have a tendency to just blurt it out and I know this message is so important for all of us thank you dear lady
Yes, Lord. This message was specifically picked out for me this morning. As I arose from my bed, I immediately felt insecure, unsafe and angry within me. I fussed to myself about someone else outloud underneath my breath. It made me feel horrible. I, then, thanked you for waking me up and allowing me another day to live and get it right. However, not even 15 min later, I was trapped in my ungodly thoughts and feelings all over again. I looked at my phone and saw this message in my notification list. I know that God is always here with me, helping me.
Dear heavenly father, please help me to be more leanent with my word towards other in time of anger. In jesus name Amen.
Amen.
