Putting Down the Criticism Gun - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole

Bible Verses: Matthew 7:3-5

"And why worry about a speck in your friend’s eye when you have a log in your own? How can you think of saying to your friend, ‘Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,’ when you can’t see past the log in your own eye? Hypocrite! First get rid of the log in your own eye; then you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend’s eye."

Reflect and Respond:

Is there a log that needs to be dislodged from your eye? Ask God to help you with this today.

Father, please forgive me for any thoughtless ways. Help me see myself truthfully knowing the grace You have extended to me. Help me see others as you see them, and share Your grace and truth with them in love, according to Your word. Amen.

Hey there. I struggle here too. But a few years ago, I started consistently asking Holy Spirit to make me aware of my words before I speak. I’ve also started asking Him to make me aware of my tone when I speak. He has helped me greatly, and even my son told me he had noticed improvement. I will pray this prayer til God takes me home. I need His help moment by moment.
Pray for our country. Pray all races will come together as one. Stop dividing us. God hear our prayers.
Being humble and be quite in the most awkward situation.
I struggle with this a lot, I want to do better in this area of my walk with the Lord, Please come and pray in agreement that God will teach me to bridle my tongue.
I've noticed I've had this problem lately.
we could all do a littlt more of this
Great reminder, I have a tendency to criticize my husband more than anyone else. Still really working on keeping my mouth shut.
Thanks for this reminder Cassie. Sometimes I am guilty of doing the same thing you spoke about in the video. It is so easy to criticize others under the 'guize' of 'good intentions' causing hurt/pain. Not realizing that we are guilty of the same fault. Father, thank You for Your grace and mercy that You so freely bestow on us when we "mess up". Help me not to be quick to criticize others, but to see them as You do. Enable me to see my faults first and confess them to You.
So true Cassie. Too much unhelpful criticism in our world today - we don't need to add to it!
