“Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.”
Reflect and Respond:
Overlooking an offense doesn't mean throwing out the idea of justice or turning a blind eye to sin. It does mean that we should be quick to forgive, and by the grace of God we become slow to anger. What annoyances and wrongs do you need to overlook today?
Prayer:
Father, help me control my temper today, even if provoked. Let me see the wisdom in overlooking wrongs and trusting You to deal with them instead. Help me to forgive, and each me Your ways in these matters. Amen.

Lord help me when my husband gets angry and cusses at me and reminds me of my wrongs. Help me to control my temper.
Now I know I am never too old to learn: sensible people control their temper. Thank You Lord for teaching me this important lesson, because I am not always able to hold it down, when tested.
