Need a Reset? - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Psalm 51:3-4,7,10,12
“For I recognize my rebellion; it haunts me day and night. Against you, and you alone, have I sinned; I have done what is evil in your sight.... Purify me from my sins, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.... Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a loyal spirit within me.... Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and make me willing to obey you.”

Reflect and Respond: Is there anything you need to confess to God today? Know that “if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1 John 1:9)

Prayer: Father, I want nothing to come between my relationship with You. May my spirit be sensitive to You. May Your Word speak clearly, and may I not try to hide my sins, but confess them to You and follow Your leading for all my days. Amen.

Lord Jesus, it is so easy to try and cover up my sin, but alas, it always ends in failure. My conscience will always find me out. Help me instead to confess my sins and to seek Your forgiveness in those times when I falter. Show my the joy of Your salvation as I turn to You. Amen.

Thank you Father God for these verses from your word, the Bible. If I confess my sin you are faithful and just to forgive and lead me in the way everlasting.
Thank you for your faithfulness and help each day.

Wow! David committed adultery and was confronted about murder and he was still considered a man after God's own Heart! That takes forgiveness! This also proves that the worst criminal we could think of may ask forgiveness from God, and God would forgive him. Try wrapping your head around that one!

We are to love the sinner, not the sin. We all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It is hard to do this because society has taught us to treat those who struggle with drugs and other addictions like they are the lowest of low in our society. I often think, what would Jesus do? He would love first. That is what we need to do..... God bless
