I Actually Need Jesus - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: John 7:37-39
“Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, 'Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, "Rivers of living water will flow from his heart."' (When he said 'living water,' he was speaking of the Spirit, who would be given to everyone believing in him.”

Reflect and Respond: How will you spend time with Jesus today? Tomorrow?

Prayer: Father, I am thirsty. I realize my need for Jesus. Let me function from a place of peace given by Your Spirit. I ask this in Jesus name. Amen.

Lord Jesus, thank You for revealing to us that You are the Person we must run to when we become spiritually thirsty. O let me drink of You daily from that never ending, ever flowing well of pure, crystal water.

I do this daily. But I still struggle in turmoil, condemnation and my peace flees no sooner than I put my Bible away. I breathe breath prayers all day and literally cry out for help.
I recently learned I have complex PTSD from childhood trauma which had been retrigged several years ago. My resilience was low due to chronic illness and stress. This has been a living hell and I have been praying for deliverance daily. I spiral into negatively and darkness. I need to hold my thoughts captive and to think on lovely and pure things but a lot is unconscious and complex. I will be engaged in intense trauma work. Please pray the Lord heals me thru 6his. I hunger and thirst for Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit to work in me. Lord. I need You!

There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Just want to encourage you with that. Also, as stated by someone, counseling is probably necessary. Please seek professional help with certified counselors/therapists who are trained in this. <3

Hey Murphy. I am very sorry you are struggling so much. Sometimes we can't "pray it away." Sometimes, we need more work. it sounds like you've experienced some major abuse and unfortunately, it still haunts you. I've pastored and walked with many people who have similar experiences. I encourage them to pray and study God's Word, as you already are. And I encourage them to seek professional help. Until we work through the abuse, we often are slaves to the abuser. Even years after the abuse occurred. It might involve addressing a chemical imbalance as well. I don't know. I would encourage you to seek out professional Christian counseling. A good place to start is New Life Ministries. They can provide some resources and suggestions. https://newlife.com/

Father, I lift up Murphy to you. He is hurting. He needs your healing touch. Lead him to the right resources to deal with and heal from these past hurts. Provide peace, hope, and love. Father, wrap your arms around your child. Amen!

He may know our weak places but nothing can stand against The Power of Our God! For Jesus is in those places with is always, never leaving nor forsaking. Daily we must start with Jesus in prayer then His Good News and remain abiding within Jesus as He does us.

Just remember it's ok not to be ok because Jesus is right there with us.
Thank You Heavenly Father Great is Your Faithfulness to us in Jesus name Amen
