Honoring the Sacrifice - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: John 15:13
“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Reflect and Respond: How can you best honor the sacrifices given by men, women, and by God today?

Prayer: Father, today we remember the lives so many brave men and women gave for our freedom. Thank you for their sacrifice and for their families who sustained such agonizing loss. May we never forget the price of that freedom. May this day also remind us of the cost of our salvation, given freely to us through the suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Let us live honorably in the richness of this amazing blessing, looking forward to being with You and our loved ones, face to face in glory. We pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

When I first accepted Christ I was 22 years old, and at that time, I just wasn't ready to commit myself to the Lord. So I fell away, stopped praying, stopped going to church, and fell into sin, especially sexual sin. It would be years later when I turned 52, that I gave my heart to the Lord. Today, I regret not committing myself earlier, but I now accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour.

"Lord, please bless those families who have lost fallen heroes this Memorial Day. Let us always remember what it took to protect this country. That we may always be known as the land of the free and the home of the brave. Amen."

Jesus saved me at the age of 10, but I recommitted my life at 18 years old.
