Bible Verse: James 1:2-4

“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

Reflect and Respond:

It’s important to understand that joy does not equal happiness. While happiness is a feeling of excitement and exhilaration, joy is more about contentment. In this case, a contented peace that God is in control and has your past, present, and future safely secured with Him in His kingdom. How does that apply to your situation today?

Prayer:

Father, thank You for being with me during the hard times. I choose to trust You with my life today, and I ask that You fill me with true joy knowing that You who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it. Amen.

When as Christ followers have come to this point, Count it all joy, meet trails of various kinds, for i know the testing of of my faith produces steadfastness. And the steadfastness have its full effect, that I may be perfectand complete, lacking in nothing.
Lord you know sometimes it's hard for me to be content, i get anxious, depressed, even irritable at times..Then I go to your word where I findguidance and hope..Please continue to do your will in me..Amen
Going through trials is so much easier when God is with you. You can have the assurance that God has your back. Throughout my life when I was recovering from a surgery; I would say, "God I can't handle this anymore". I felt God step-up and give me strength to keep going. God is an ever-present God! Dawn
You’ll never hear those dreaded words if you’ve received Jesus as your Saviour. Once you’ve been infused with the divine blood of the Lamb you’re sealed for eternity. It’s like when you’re born into your family—no matter what you do, you’re a son or daughter FOREVER! That family blood (DNA) is in your veins. The blood WILL NEVER LOSE IT’S POWER!!! It’d be very cheap Grace if it depended on us.
Thanks for this Laura. That was exactly what I needed to hear today.
Thanks for the encouragement! I really needed a reminder like this. Do you happen to know what translation is used for the daily scripture?
My emotions have been up & down so much during this shelter in place. Thank you for this much needed reminder of God’s faithfulness and the encouraging words to view this trial as an opportunity to grow. I have prayed to know God and for Him to “know” me - I have a fear of standing before Him and hearing’depart from Me I never knew you’ and that is a dreadful thought. This is an opportunity to grow closer to Him and I want to be obedient to Him.
