Don't Be Alarmed - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Matthew 6:31-34

“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

Reflect and Respond:

Can you relate to my worry about the alarm clock not going off? It sounds funny when I share this - but it really is a problem for me. One I have to hand over to God. I'd love to hear your insight on today's verse - just add a comment section below!

Father, I know this: You love me, You know my needs, and You will give me all I need. Because of that I place today and tomorrow into your hands. Amen.

I used to be so shy that I worried about saying the wrong thing and usually said nothing at all because of it. Once I joined Toastmasters, I gained so much confidence in public speaking and even in small talk, that now I am often the one who speaks up to answer the first question in a Bible study, for example, just to break the ice for others who may be struggling to speak first. God placed the perfect answer for me into my life and I no longer worry at all about what I will say when the time comes for me to speak. Being confident in my ability to speak appropriately also helped me to be a much better listener since I am no longer focusing on myself all the time. Now I pray that I will be able to talk less and listen more, but I no longer worry about it either way.

I have several didabilitating illnesses. After I have recovered from a surgery, I refuse to take pain medicine. With that being said, I am in constant pain. What method will be useful in reducing pain, today? My challenge has been to give that worry to God, and to leave that worry with God.
I am constantly reciting Matthew 11:28-30.
If not using these verses for strength for myself, my goal is to share them with others in need.

I've seen the Lord provide so many times when I look back. That's why I don't understand why I even worry. I have to remind myself the Lord comes through on His timing.
