Do You Hurt the One You Love - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:9-11

“For God chose to save us through our Lord Jesus Christ, not to pour out his anger on us. Christ died for us so that, whether we are dead or alive when he returns, we can live with him forever. So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.”

Reflect and Respond:

Think about your close loved ones today, especially the ones who may get under your skin at times. Ask God to help you see them through His eyes, and to reveal ways for you to love and encourage them rather than criticize.

Father, You have put people in my life to love, but I often find myself criticizing them either in my mind, with my words, or both. Today I pray that You would help me see them in a new light -- the way You see them! Please reveal ways for me to love and encourage them rather than to criticize. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

Yes Lord, I often tend to correct and straighten out the ones whom I love. But I thank you for Your Word that requires me to desist. Help me to have mercy and show patience with those whom I have conflicts so that I please You in all my actions.
