Cruise Ships and Battleships - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series - Arnie Cole Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Reflect and Respond: According to Ephesians 6:12 who is it you're battling against? As Arnie said, you are on a battleship, and your adversary is shooting at you. Ephesians 6:13-17 gives you the armor to help withstand the battle. What are the various parts of the armor, and how can you use them today? Prayer: Father, I cannot fight this daily battle on my own! I need your power and your protection. Help me, through your word, recognize and withstand the temptations that come my way today. Amen. Thanks Arnie I love your message. Great video.
It’s an everyday battle
Thanks Arnie you really help me on this one, as we walk on this daily path to follow Jesus Christ each and evey day.
But first, I have to be strong in the Lord and the power of His might. I must really on His might more and more so I may have the power to go into battle with Satan and his many minions. Then put on the armor of God. Put on Truth, God's Righteousness, the Gospel of Peace, Faith, Salvation, and the Sword of the Spirit which is the word of God. Only then do I have the victory when the battle is over. Thanks Arnie
I love that analogy of the battleship and cruise ship.
I love the battleship vs. cruise ship analogy. It's easy to complain when life isn't going the way I want. But I need to focus on becoming more like Jesus. He never complained and he had plenty of opportunities to do so. Thanks Arnie!
The battle is ongoing and we need God's help to win. But the good news is that we know who wins in the end, though it doesn't make the daily fight any easier.
I really do like this new Lift program you have! It reminds me that I am not alone and that other believers might be going through some of the same things I am! Thank you!
I wish more discipleship and preaching taught that Christianity is a battleship. It's not a cruise ship. But what's amazing is we've got a perfect captain at the helm who will see us through the battles.
Great analogy to remind us that we can't be passive as we're trying to fight against temptation!
Great reminder of who we are fighting against. And no, I can't do it on my own - I need God's power through His word and the Holy Spirit!
