Criticizing Others - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Matthew 7:3-5
“Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye.”

Bible Verse: Proverbs 16:24
“Gracious words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the body.”

Reflect and Respond: Pray that God would help you be gracious to others today. Who might you encourage?

Prayer: Father, I pray that You would give me words that are gracious like a honeycomb to share with people today. Let my eyes see others as You do, and let me heart beat with Your love. In the name of Jesus, amen.

Great reminder!

Lord Jesus, please remind me to remove the beam that is in my eye, before I pick on others unfairly. Use me to help and encourage others rather than finding fault with their shortcomings. Lord, remove from me a critical spirit and replace it with the Holy Spirit.

Thank you, I really needed to hear this message. "Please, Lord, help me to not be a hypocrite. Lead me away from this sin when it appears in my life. In order for me to give advice, I must first practice what I preach. Lord, let me be an encouragement to all those who have struggled with this sin, because everyone, no doubt, does. Lord Jesus, thank You for all that You do in our lives, even if it is lovingly correcting us. Amen."
