Comfort in the Darkness - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verse: Psalm 23:4

“Even, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”

Reflect and Respond:

First of all, HAPPY EASTER! Today's encouragement comes from Psalm 23:4. The rod and staff talked about in today's verse were tools of a shepherd whose job it was to protect his sheep. He stood guard with them day and night in all sorts of weather and he fought off any enemies. What does this tell you about the presence of the Lord in your life today?

Lord, You are my shepherd. You stand by to protect and provide for me. Today I am reminded of all You did to pay for my sins. Alleluia to my Risen King! I choose to trust and thank You for Your sacrificial love and Your faithful shepherding in my life. Amen.

It really is comforting that even though it's dark to our eyes, God is taking care of us.
