Broken Down Walls - Spiritual Growth Encouragement Series

Bible Verses: Proverbs 25:28

“A person without self-control is like a city with broken-down walls.”

Galatians 5:22-23

“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!”

Reflect and Respond:

Where do you need self-control in your life today?

Father, I know that You want to guide me, protect me and strengthen me so that I have self control over destructive things in my life. I ask today that You would give me self control for ______. I praise You for Your faithfulness . Amen.

This was a very needed message for me. I realized that my favorite word had become (tomorrow). That attitude was only making things worse inside me. I wrote down several things and asked the Holy Spirit to help me - like even one thing at a time. If I see a birthday date coming up to just get in my car, go to the store, get a card and send it.

What a great message. I needed to hear it today. I'm glad you said it's not going to happen overnight.

Please help me break down my walls. Help me to learn self-control. I do want to be a better person. A person more Christ-Like.

28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls. KJV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. KJV

Gluttony is of all the things she mentioned.
Gluttony (Latin: gula, derived from the Latin gluttire meaning "to gulp down or swallow") means over-indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth items, particularly as status symbols. In Christianity, it is considered a sin if the excessive desire for food causes it to be withheld from the needy.

The walls of my life given back through Jesus Christ is the every wall of this life. Nothing can separate us from The Love of Jesus Christ! When we see and understand what Gluttony is it tells us we are lacking in our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Father You are our every need our every wall surrounding us on every side, there is no Greater Love need or want than You OH Mighty God, Father in You I found what life was truly meant for, to worship You stand on Your every Word, Promise, Thank You Lord for never Failing us never leaving us for reminding us we are not meant to be perfect, for Lord I come alive with and only in You Thank Father Your Good in every way in Jesus name Amen
