Lord, I thank You that through the death and resurrection of Jesus, you have provided me with the opportunity to join You in everlasting joy. Help me understand and live fully in the joy of Your salvation. Amen.

I am retired now and I am not very handy with tools or fixing things at all, but I still like to try. I get easily frustrated when I can't fix something simple and I have to call my son-in-law to come fix it. I can easily let it affect my feeling of self-worth because I want to be useful in my retirement. What man does not get joy from being useful? My wife reminded me that I am useful in so many other ways, and this scripture and lesson reminds me that I can always be joyful as a child of God and that I need not be anything more than that to share in the joy that God wants for me. My joy is in who I am, not in what I can do.
I lost my son 4 months ago and my mother last week. I am trying to keep my faith and have managed to do so. It has been rough though. Back to the Bible has been a very big help to me.
Father thank you for the Joy you have given me again.
