Bible Verse: Psalm 46:10

“Be still, and know that I am God."

Reflect and Respond:

Find time today to meet with God in His word. Pray that His presence and promises might comfort you. Here are some extra verses to meditate on: Psalm 46:1-2, Psalm 71:20, John 16:33.

Prayer:

Dear Lord, I pray today that You would meet me in Your stillness with Your strength. That You would comfort me in Your presence with Your peace. And that You would heal me with Your power through the Name of Your Son, My Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Lord, You have taken a very complex truth and trimmed it down to eight words. Help me to understand Your truth by simplifying its content for me. Do this through the still, small voice of Your Holy Spirit, I pray, Amen.

Loss is hard...especially when you have such a close relationship with someone. I am truly sorry, Eva. I am glad you are here. I am praying that God will bring you people you can trust and the ability to trust them!

In 2015 I lost my dear older sister and my beautiful baby niece, she was just 2 years old and I used to take care of her while my other sister, her mother, was at work. ( We are four sister, counting with the one who died and we always have been really close). I almost died that day too. I crazy neighbor attacked us with a knife, just I survived. Is been so difficult to move on...to understand the plan of God in all of this mess. But I'm trying to trust God after spending some years being mad at Him.
I grew up in the church, my parents were missionaries, my father is a pastor and when I was a kid I accepted God as my savior. I think that made me even more mad at God, because I trusted him, He knew all my fears and, of course, I was not perfect, but I tried to live a life that pleases God and I still do. So, I don't understand why He let this happen. However, despite all that, deep inside of me I know He is God and He does what He wants.

Raquel, thank you for sharing a painful background. I am sorry for the loss and trauma. Understanding why God allows certain things is a mystery. Some people think God caused it. Other people think God allowed it. I tend to think Scripture paints more allowance than the cause. God is not the author of evil. So he may orchestrate things or allow things for a greater purpose. We simply can't be sure. However, we do know that God is working all things together for good to those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.

God is the Grand Weaver graciously weaves together the moments of our lives into a beautiful tapestry. When we focus purely on the broad strokes, they can be very ugly. But when we step back to see it in whole, we can see the Master's work at hand. I pray for peace, contentment, and faithfulness as you continue to maneuver your past into your future!

Kerning I'm so sorry you are experiencing this loss right now. I know it must fill you with sadness. Grief is a process and I'm sure you're already feeling so many emotions. I pray that Jesus comforts you during this time. That he wraps his arms around you and brings you comfort in time of your sorrow. 🙏
