Go Deeper
All four Gospels record Peter's denial of Jesus, but only John records a specific meeting between Jesus and Peter on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. Read more about this important event here.

Reflect
It's now been nearly 2,000 years since Jesus and the disciples walked the earth. And for many centuries, artists of all kinds have attempted to capture these important and memorable moments of the Christian faith in paintings and stained glass.

But how do you begin a relationship with a stained glass saint? One of the values of the Bible is that the men and women presented there are always shown as very human. They laugh, they cry, they disagree with each other and sometimes question God's leading. We see a bit of the real life of Jesus and the disciples in John 21:6:

"Then he said, 'Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you'll get plenty of fish!' So they did, and they couldn't draw in the net because there were so many fish in it."

In this passage we see many ordinary things going on that you and I do every day. Things like going to work and eating breakfast; like being frustrated at putting in long hours with little result; like feeling happiness when a good friend stops by.

Maybe you've seen those beautiful stained glass windows and the saintly figures depicted there and wondered "how can an ordinary person like me ever be useful to God?" The same way the disciples were. Though today they are considered saints, they became that way by hearing Jesus' voice and following Him. And they found that in a relationship with Jesus even ordinary life can be filled with the supernatural.

Respond
In what ways have you felt God calling you to serve?

What's keeping you from being more intentional in your service of God?

We look forward to your comments and questions below!

"Luke24:6He has risen! Remember how He told you while He was still in Galilee: 7‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.’” Jesus has risen! Alleluia!

John 21:17 17Jesus asked a third time, “Simon son of John, do you love Me?”Peter was deeply hurt that Jesus had asked him a third time, “Do you love Me?”“Lord, You know all things,” he replied. “You know I love You.”Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep." I ponder why Jesus asked Peter three time "Do you love me?" So, "Mutual love matters in relationship"

When Jesuss told his disciples to cast the net on the other side, so they did then they realize, they could not because of the quality of the fish.

Now I have finished all five lessons on the Resurrection, it is now completed.
