The Key to Being Bold - Your Daily Forward Devotional

The Key to Being Bold

February 26

<br>

Read Ephesians 6:19-24

...and also for me, that words may be given to me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the Gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains, that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. So that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything. I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts. Peace be to the brothers, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible.

Reflect

How comfortable are you with sharing your faith and standing up for God’s truth?

If the idea of sharing your faith with others has you nervous and overwhelmed, you aren’t alone. Many Christians report that they want to share their faith with others but they aren’t really sure what to say or how to say it. They want to defend their faith and knock down arguments that people make against God but they are worried they will end up over their head. Some people are just worried about what other people think so they don’t talk about their faith at all.

But friends, in the Great Commission, Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...” (Matthew 28:19). And He also said, “For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels” (Luke 9:26). We are commanded to share our faith with others. We are warned not to be ashamed of Jesus or His teachings but to boldly share them with the world.

Paul was an “ambassador in chains.” He represented Christ everywhere he went and for that, he was arrested and locked up. And yet, he did not stop sharing the Gospel. He knew that he would likely be killed for preaching Christ crucified and resurrected, but that didn’t stop him.

Is anything stopping you from boldly sharing your faith? If so, pray and ask God to give you the courage and confidence to proclaim His name. Even better, do what Paul did and ask others to pray for you as well. Ask them to pray “that words may be given” to you and that you may “declare it boldly.”

Whatever you do, don’t stop praying - for yourself and for all of the other saints. Prayer is what enables us to work in the power of the Spirit. We cannot accomplish anything for the kingdom in our own power. Once we understand that the power does not come from us and that the battle belongs to God, we don’t have to be afraid. We can boldly proclaim the Gospel and trust any outcome to the One in charge.

Pray

Lord, I want to be an effective ambassador for You. Please give me the courage and the confidence to boldly proclaim the Gospel. I know that it is “the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes” (Romans 1:16). I don’t want to be ashamed or afraid to share lifegiving news to those around me. Amen.

Discipleship Tip: Sharing is discipleship. Invite a friend to join you each day for a morning coffee and conversation about God. Click the sharing button below to get the conversation started.

Hi Sarah! There is one Share button and it is located on the Devotional itself - that is the materials we intended to have people share with their contacts. If you are trying to comment on a post OR make a comment on someone else's post - just choose the Reply option at the bottom of each comment. Please keep sharing what you are finding as we are trying to work out any bugs that there might be! THANKS Sarah!
Dear Back to the Bible, You mention a "share button" at the bottom of the messages. I have that button on the first box, prior to all the other comments (the one I am typing in now). However, I do NOT have this button on any other comments. Is this how it is supposed to be? I Love this app, but have had a number of glitches with it so far, and wondered if this is one of them? Thank you for your help May the Lord continue to Bless you in your efforts to Serve Him
FB has also removed several Biblical references/Prayers on my page, also. Not just mine, but others, also. When clicking on the shared item, it comes up as "Page no longer available". I agree with your solution being in Prayer. On the other hand, the internet is providing sermons and Prayer groups to many isolated persons, myself included, that were not formerly available prior to the Covid outbreak. That is Our Lord weaving His Web of Goodness into an otherwise "dark situation". Praise the Lord!
Beautifully Said. Thank You
Amen! I need to remember that sometimes it is not always what we say, but simply how we live our lives; the actions that we take, and sometimes even the actions that we choose Not to take . Praying for the Knowledge, Understanding, Wisdom, and Insight of Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit to Guide Us All in His Ways. Praying for the Patience to wait on the Lord and to Know when to step back and allow for Him to tend the planted seeds of His Word so that they may Grow. Praying for All of Us. Amen
Awesome, Sarah! Keep it up!
It is true that being bold for Christ will mean rejection. But remember, they are ultimately not rejecting you. They are rejecting Christ. I encourage you to live each day with gospel intentionality. Approach every opportunity as a way to invite outsiders into your world. Then look for natural opportunities to spread the seeds of the gospel. 1 Cor. 3:6!
Oh no! Ernesto, what happened with the delivery?
Wow. Great job being available, present, and bold! Now God does the rest!
You are not alone. I saw a video of Francis Chan and David Platt discussing their struggles and their fears in evangelism. So you are not alone. I pray for courage, wisdom, and reception in your outreach efforts!
I agree. America is no longer exemplifying the ideals we were founded in. Let us not forget to be Thankful for the many Blessings that we are afforded, though. There are many places where our brothers and sisters are deeply persecuted for having a Bible or for gathering together in worship . Let us Thank the Lord that we have this great privilege.
Praying I'll be bold enough to share Christ.
My prayers go out to everyone and not ashamed to share my love for Christ.
Pray daily guidance, Family, neighbors, pastors, government, the sick, the homeles, their are so many things we can pray for. Prayer doesn"t mean we have to pray a long pray, or a short prayer, just pray from the heart.
Sharon, The Apostle Paul tells us that it is necessary for us to exhort one another . That means not only encouragement, but righteous admonishment, for one another's Good. We are to do it meekly and humbly, but we are to do it. Let the Holy Spirit guide you. As Jesus told the disciples, in the Gospels, "Do not worry about what you will say . The Holy Spirit Will give you the words". It can be difficult not to be afraid and doubt yourself. I Know!!!! However, we are also instructed "Do not be afraid" and "Sufficient for each day is it's own anxiety". Just Pray for the Holy Spirit to Guide you. I am Praying for you💕
Praying for you. Remember the Bible verse where Jesus tells the disciples not to worry about what they will say. (In the Gospels) He tells them that the Holy Spirit Will provide the words . And He Does.💕
Julie, I want to let you know that on my walk today ,(3rd day in a row . Praise the Lord!) I encountered that man again. We spoke for a bit, I encouraged him to Pray, and he wants to start walking with me, despite his cane and breathing ailment. Once again, I walked away feeling empowered . The Lord will provide ways for us to share if we seek them. I have been seeking for awhile now . Don't give up . I Am Praying for You💕 Consider reading the account of Jesus at the well when he encountered the woman who had had 5 husbands and he asked her for water. (It is in the Gospels) The disciples were out getting him food because he appeared tired, worn down, and hungry . When they returned, they asked if someone had fed him, because he was rejuvenated and energized. Preaching to the woman and sharing his Gift had done that for Him!
Colossians 3:1-3. Remember, We are the righteousness of God in Christ. We are fearfully and wonderfully made in God's Image . All things are possible with God. No shame, Brother. You are a new person in Christ . We all fight these battles. Put on your armour, but let Father fight the battle💕
I need reminding that I cannot do anything in my own power, only in God's.
Go on Pastor Nat, let us hear more of these thought provoking but simple words of (a spiritual) life.
I can very much relate, Jason. Praying for both of us!
I'm not sure where my about alot of things but I know I can do more to preach the gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ...but there is still a fear of rejection I have inside of me. How do I overcome this? And shame and guilt?
*THANKYOUJESUS*
Excellent teaching. And simple to do. Faith like a child. Child of God.
I love the context of back to the bible devotional but it's not very dependable. Sometimes like today)it does not arrive!
Praise Jesus
Thank you for sharing your experience. It is very encouraging to me. I live very isolated due to chronic illness. As a result, I rarely have an opportunity to share my faith. I will pray opportunities will become available to me. May God bless you!
Thank You! I have been forced into living a very isolated life lately by unforseen circumstances that are beyond my control. (Not beyond God's control, though) I have been in a state of depression despite "meditating on Gods Word day and night". Today, after a long and heartfelt prayer, with the help of Jesus and the Holy Spirit interceding for me, I was convinced to go outside and take a long walk . I started out hopeful, yet still disheartened and weak. On my walk I met a man who shared with me a terrible trauma he has recently been through. He just approached me and started telling me his story. He obviously needed someone to listen to him, and so that is what I did, while praying for the Holy Spirit to Guide me. When he was finished, the Gospel poured forth from my lips like a running stream. I did not have to think about it or plan it at all. It was just there. He was receptive and said that he wished that he had " some of what I had". We now have plans to talk together more about it. He thanked me profusely and said "God Bless You" when we parted. I started out disheartened and weak, but walked away joyful, strengthened, and full of Faith. Thank You Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit Amen
I understand, your not alone.
I PROUDLY PROCLAIM MY FAITH IN God sometimes it scares people but my Faith moves me forward
Pray for me brothers and sisters in Christ, I have been experiencing this exact lesson nat is speaking of. I love Jesus Christ so much I want to shout it when I’m in a store around many people, but I get so nervous. I feel the Holy Spirit to telling me to talk to a person but I chicken out. Please pray that I can be as bold as a lion when it comes to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ. I can do it so easily behind a phone but in person it’s a struggle please pray for me God bless y’all Jason w
I'm Not Ashamed of the Gospel for it is the Power of Our Lord Jesus Christ! Amen!
I will pray to day, every day and each day from henceforth pray and talk to God.
These situations can be challenging. There's a couple ways to analyze this and make a wise decision. 1) Are they unsaved. if so, they need the gospel. They're world-views will be wrong. They're political persuasions will be misguided. So they need the gospel. 2) Are they a "notional" Christian? Do they think they're saved, but really not. Many people fall into this category. They have gone to church they're whole life. They like Jesus. But they've never surrendered their lives to Him. Authentic salvation ultimately results in a soul saved and a life changed. So they need the gospel and truth. 3) Are they newly saved or infant Christians? When a person comes to saving faith it's on the basis of faith alone (Eph 2:1-10). In other words, they're a new creation, but they're just beginning the sanctifcation process. They're just starting to encounter and embrace the teachings of God. So maybe they' don't know what the Bible actually says. So they need gospel and truth as well. Sexual expression is a "equal" sin regarding condemnation, but it does carry unique and big consequences for ourselves and those around us. Plus sexuality is sacred. So it is unique in that way. When we are humble and dependent upon the grace and mercy of God, we aren't being Pharisees. We are being broken saints in need of that precious savior. When we point out sin in the lives of believers, we are following what Scripture teaches. When we preach the gospel to the lost, we are fulfilling the commands of Christ. Be encouraged, Sharon.
Sharon , my heart go’s out to you. When a person feels as strongly about these issues as you do ,(I feel the same as you) it can be a challenge. As pastor nat said as he quoted Peter , “ always be ready to give an answer for the hope you have with respect and much humility “. I’ve noticed when a person sincerely ask a question , Then the conversation will be a lot different. Try it . With prayer and patience maybe they will be open to listen without being on the defensive.. ps let everything be done in love .. YBIC. May the Lord Bless
Thank you Lord for helping me to share the Word boldly. It took me many years to have confidence to boldly proclaim the Gospel. Once I understood that the power did not come from me, but You, I started to grow and have more confidence. Now, I am not afraid.
Thank you!
Yes, please do!
Preach on!
The world has "moved on." Thankfully, God and His Word never changes.
Revival happens with one person. Each one reach one! We can do this.
It is intimidating sharing the faith with others. I struggle with not knowing enough. I struggle with ending a relationship. But I remember that people will reject us, but ultimately they are rejecting Christ. And it's not us that has the power, but the gospel (Romans 1:16-17). I am praying for strength for us all!
Like Peter said, "Always be ready for the hope that is in you, but do so with gentleness and respect." When we live out the difference Christ makes in our lives, it gets noticed. So we need to be ready to spread the gospel seed and water when the opportunity arises.
I question what I am to do about sharing the gospel with those in my sphere of influence who are Christians but support political views that go against scripture. Am I being like a Pharisee to correct them especially since we all sin? A family member threw the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector back at me on the issue of LGBTQ and asked why do I focus on that sin? I responded that all sin is equally wrong but those who are not repentant but rather proud of what Christ calls sin, are not Christians and are trying to influence society including innocent children that we should embrace it. Is this a subject that Christ wants me to be bold about defending? Or should I just not mention it and be loving giving this problem totally to the Lord? I feel I can’t ask these questions of those in my church because we’re not to bring up anything political or divisive. It almost seems like sharing the gospel is being self righteous especially where LGBTQ and abortion are concerned. On the one hand we’re being unloving not to say anything in order to save them from hell and on the other hand we are being judgmental, self righteous and unmerciful to criticize. Please help me if you have a clear answer on this topic.
Sharing the gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ - can take on many forms in your life. Yes, initiating dialog about the gospel can be way hard at times. That said, sometimes our simple actions of love and goodness towards others can spark the conversation - be ready!!! Pray everyday that God gives the opportunity and courage to share His Word...Amen!
Geld you did share, thank you....
I am comfortable sharing my faith with other believers. However I find it difficult to do so with those who don’t believe.. I think it is because of my upbringing. Religion was a common topic of discussion in my home—- my Dad was always bringing up his thoughts— some very wrong- He was interested in all sorts of strange things— some not very Christian at all! And he was critical of those family members who didn’t accept some of his far out not Christian beliefs! My Mama was a devout Christian true lady. Nevertheless ( and that word is mentioned often in the Bible) Daddy is the one who taught me to memorize Psalm 23! And I often found him on his knees when he was an old nearly 90 year old man. He never denied believing in Jesus! And when asked if he believed in Jesus, he admitted that of course he did. He smoked and he cursed most of his life! He also taught us to “Look up,” I can still see him in my minds eye pointing “up!” to remind us to do so!!! God is merciful. I can’t believing that he was saved. And that he was responsible for his children and most of his grandchildren— and there are a great number of grandchildren—feeling our great need to turn to Jesus as our Saviour. I am thankful for being able to share this...
And unfortunately Facebook is beginning to sensor are religious freedom. The other day a member of CRU's message, sharing the love of God, was removed!!😢
Amen...you and I are in the same boat...not ashame but afraid
I am fairly comfortable Sharing my Faith, but Even I have hesitated to speak up for fear of inciting an argument. Thank you for this devotion!!! It truly moved me :)
Absolutely! There is a share button at the bottom of the message to make it easy to share or you can copy & paste it if you choose.
Mother Teresa said (I am paraphrasing} it's better to try to change things person to person rather than change crowds. I Pray that I can share my faith person by person.
Beautiful promise of God’s Word. Please pray for all my friends & family for their salvation to Believe by faith and receive , Jesus Christ alone as their Lord & Savior. Thank you
Yes when I look around I think what country are we living in? It sure isnt america anymore! The gospel is needed more than ever no matter the cost!
Like many others I use Facebook as my pulpit
Given the context of the question I answered to pray
is it ok to pass this on to others?
Realizing more than ever we need to witness Christ’ love for us and put our trust in him helping us witness with his help.
Jesus is my Lord and savior!
Praying now in this day than I ever have in my life!!! There peace that comes is immeasurable.
Dearest Jesus , You gave ALL that you have. May I use your gifts to your glory and speak your Word in kindness, power and with a sound mind . Amen.
Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love incorruptible. Oh what it would be like to love others with love that is incorruptible. To love others purely, honestly, selfishly like Jesus does to us. When we tell people about God’s love for them by Jesus life, death and resurrection we are sharing an incorruptible love. So we need to know that Jesus’s love flows through us when we humbly share his incorruptible love with them. Jesus help us to love others like you for your glory. Amen
Lord, Assist me, guide me, and provide me with strength and courage to tell others about Your Word. Lord give me the words to boldly tell of Your goodness, mercies, grace, and righteousness. I want others to know just how Good You are. I am never ashamed of You Lord, I do not want You to be ashamed of me. Glory to Your name Lord. In Jesus name I pray, Amen
Prayer,. Conversation with God anytime. 24/7 Thank you for reminding me. 🙏
HelpusLord
Amen! The suggested prayer is a great help to believers who are somewhat timid to share the “best news in life”. May your encouragement be heeded and magnified in our communities and the world!
Amen.
Glory be to God. Truth...Amen, by the grace and help of God.
Jesus please help us!!!
Thank you, Lord. Amen.
This is my weakest link, talking to people about God! Not that I'm ashamed but not sure I would relay the correct words needed. But I am going to try and overcome this as I do want people to know Jesus!!
