I’m the mom of three boys. Being a mom of three boys is like a three-ring circus meets Wrestlemania meets Fail Army. In other words, I could be afraid a lot because I never know what’s going to happen to a kid at any given moment.
However, one thing I’ve learned is I don’t need to fear because God’s Word gives me peace.
Psalm 94:19 says, “When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul.”
Experiencing fear is never enjoyable, but it seems to be worse when facing it alone. That’s why I’m thankful that I’ve got a heavenly father who is always there for me. Not only is He there for me, but this psalm tells me that no matter how heavy my heart is, God is ready to pick me up…to cheer my soul.
God’s Word is full of his promises of protection, consolation, present, and future hope, and so much more.
No matter what you’re facing today, remember, God is there for you. He cares for you. He knows your pain, your sorrow, and your fear. Turn to Him and let Him comfort you today. Text in Context:Read Psalm 94.
Reflect: What is the psalmist’s chief complaint? What is the psalmist’s warning? How is God addressed in the psalm?
Respond: When do you feel freer to come to God? Is it when you’re happy? Sad? Angry? Something else? Why? When has God come to your rescue? How did this impact your view of God?
Prayer: Father, thank you for being open to my every thought and feeling. Help me turn to you in all circumstances. Amen.
