Living as a Masterpiece - Your Daily Forward Devotional

Living as a Masterpiece

September 18

“Dress the part.” That was the advice I received as a young professional salesman. I didn’t have the sales. I lacked confidence. I was stuck. So, I was told, “Success begins by putting on the reality of who you want to be. Dress the part.”

Maybe you feel spiritually stuck. You look at yourself and say, “Wow. You’ve got a long way to go. Just look at you.” The Apostle Paul has a word of advice for you:

“But that is not the way you learned Christ!— 21 assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, 22 to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, 24 and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”

You see, you don’t need to dress who you want to be. Every Christian is a masterpiece, according to Ephesians 2:10. You are a new person. Therefore dress the part. You are a masterpiece whom God loves, no matter what you say or what you do. So dress the part.

If you feel spiritually stuck, know who you are: a masterpiece. If you’re still struggling with old sin habits, know 1st that God still loves you. Remember also that you don’t have to. God has a new way of living. He has a new outfit. He says, “put it on.” Don’t believe me? Be renewed in the spirit of your minds by getting into God’s Word.

You are a masterpiece, so dress the part today.

Text in Context: Read Ephesians 4:17-32.

Reflect: What does putting on and putting off mean? How do you know if you have put on or taken off? What is the difference between godly living and worldly living?

Respond: Many of us feel like slaves to sin, but God has freed us from that bondage. How are you still living as a slave to sin? How does God’s message of a new outfit help you?

Prayer: Father, thank you for freeing me from my sin. Help me to live out the wonderful work you’ve done in me. Amen.

Lord Jesus, thank You for Your Word. Help me to "dress the part" in Christ and it will be sufficient.
In today lesson it speaks about putting on the whole armor of God and put away the flesh to be renew in the spirt . And to trust him in any situation taking of the old garments and putting on the new. It going to take me a minute to do this one day at a time, because to betrayal by your own family is a hard pill to swallow. And losing love ones back to back is hard. But I know that God is real and I will give it all to him. Everyone have a bless and healthily, safe day. In Jesus mighty name Amen.
How are you still living as a slave to sin? How does God’s message of a new outfit help you? When i try to live in accordance with my knowledge and in my forces i am very vulnerable to sin, but when i assume in faith the new life in Christ and his presence through the Holy spirit, so there is hope, vision and strengh to go ahead.
I’m definitely stuck spiritually. Thank you for the timely word .
The old in me died. I am on a spiritual journey to a home of eternal life the king of Kings Jesus my redeemer. Amen.

Not only do we have a new outfit that frees us from sin, we have God's full armor that we can put on every day. Check out Ephesians 6;10 and following. We not only look good, we are protected from the enemy.
I love this devotion, Dress the Part! We always feel our best when we Dress up and God is the ultimate Garment! Amen !
This was a blessing to me because I have been struggling with sin lately and you reminded me our Father is a forgiving God and I too can put on a new outfit because my Father has forgiven me
This is what I have waiting for, there is so much more going on now than ever.
I love those passages . To" put off the ole self", that is the command of sin and death which was our natural .But now with Jesus He came and removed all sin , even the sin of today or tomorrow ?? Jesus thru death burial and ressurection, shed blood had power to remove the invisible heart from us before salvation ..And gave us a new heart and Spirit with the command of Love written on it and poured out His love in us and our minds ,so we believe this happen to us also. But , but I still sin ...duh.. even though I still sin God remember them no more ..amen then came the Holy Spirit to comfort ,counsel us to truth , Love and other focus on things above .. so Bob are you saying there free to sin "God Forbid , ! Two roads one to realize after saved the ole past mind sets is to tempt and sway you to sin however I have a choice either give in and be miserable flesh living OR I am dead to sin and alive to God !! I'm dead to those thoughts (sin) & alive in Christ . practice saying these new identity truths to myself! Oops I'm typing to Amen
Heavenly Father I thank You for Your armor, the armor of God. So that I am able to resist sin and ward off the enemy. In Christ Jesus name I pray, Amen.
This is our moment in eternity, when we are being changed by ELOHIM our creator. JESUS suffered that we might have eternal life, press on to the mark and the prize church. Christ gave life so that we could have life. Never quit, give up or doubt GOD'S love for you. Remember daily with a new mind, determination and covenant with GOD. Hang in there, we can do this. Rejoice in your salvation.
If you are still struggling with old sin habits God still loves you. I can’t put into words what this message means to me. I know God loves me but I know I have let him down and I wonder if he will allow me to enter his kingdom when the time comes
Thank You, dear Lord, that it is only through the power of Your Holy Spirit that we can live the holy or godly life. May You continue to keep me strong in You!
Heavenly Father, I pray for your guidance in taming my heart, mind, and tongue so that, my every action pleases You. In Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior I ask and pray. Amen.

Amen. I love you God in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is what we see in the spiritual life of many Christians, including me often fail to understand our status! We may be poor in the worldly standards but we often forget that we are rich in God because we are the children of God. This transition took place in,our lives at the right time God wanted us to be adorned as the temple of God. But we often forget to cleanout the adamant remnants of our old self, that makes things not alright with us at all the time. The devotional is inspiring and thoughtful. Thank you.
