Text in Context: Read Proverbs 14:29-30 “Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly. A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.”

Reflect: Why is peaceful living hard? Why is it difficult to choose patience and understanding over anger? What does the writer say is the cost of quick anger and jealousy?

Respond: How are you losing the battle of anger and jealousy? How can you display understanding and patience?

Prayer: Father, thank you for being slow to anger and lavish in your loving-kindness. Help me to be slow to become anger and jealous. Instead, help me to show others patience and grace. Amen.

Lazy people at work seem to make me lose my cool
Thanks for the word to help and guide me
I do good, except when it comes to my co workers, their laziness drives me crazy
Thanks for this word. It's a virtue that is so needed today. I will share this and remember it.
I was in a very similar situation with my Mom for many years. I was and am disabled, which made some circumstances even more trying. I was constantly praying for patience and peace in my heart and help with my own problems to be able to help her. She passed 3 years ago . I love my Mom.
This was right on time. I was just praying about this today. My mom is 85 almost 86. No matter how nice I treat her, she is mean to me most of the time. I take her to all of her doctor's appointments, but when I am trying to tell the doctors what problems she's having, she yells at me saying for me to be quiet because she knows more than I do about her. The problem is that my mom forgets a lot, so I have to say something otherwise we wont get what we come for, taken care of. But it often ends with her arguing with me, but I have no choice but to do it to make sure the doctors understand. Also, when I clean up her house, she often finds something wrong even though I clean everything as well as mop floors. I know that it has to do with her mind, but it can still work on my patience. Even when we are having a casual conversation, she doesn't let me talk, she interrupts and takes over. When its something she doesn't want to hear, even though I am just talking calmly, she gets mad and starts yelling saying that she is not going to aurgue with me. Sometimes when we are on the phone, she will start yelling and just hang up the phone on me. Anger does show its ugly head sometimes which leaves me feeling extremely bad. I will repond back sharply sometimes or I will just totally stop talking. We don't have many two way conversations, I just let her talk, and I don't say nothing; that's not right. But no matter what. I want to continue treating my mom nice without responding in anger. Your prayer should help me achieve this. I know I've written a book, but I just needed to let this out. I am 60 years old. I have been dealing with this for many years. With God all things are possible.🙇‍♀️😊
Powerful affirmation and thoughts
This is very valuable because comparing is very prevalent in our culture. This is a much better way to think and live.
If we would think the situation through first, getting argue would be exemplified less.
Continue to correct my wrongs Lord God, continue the work which you have started in me. For you way is way better than mine. In Jesus name
I am getting tired of apologizing for my quick temper. It is almost pointless now. I ask God everyday, in Jesus' name, to make my heart pure and to take away my sinful nature. Sometimes I feel His presence but usually I am too wrapped up in myself to listen.
I need a lot of prayer because I am not slow to anger in this climate!
Great message! Amen
Amen ✝️🙏🇺🇸
THANK YOU FOR THESE WORDS, PLEASE KEEP ME IN PRAYER THAT I MAY FULFILL GODS WORDS.

Prayer: Father, thank you for being slow to anger and lavish in your loving-kindness. Help me to be slow to become anger and jealous. Instead, help me to show others patience and grace. Amen.

Wow, ACT, not react. Simple but easy. Thank you, blessings,
This came at a good time.

I needed this reminder today! I am so easily angered, especially in this time when everything seem to be crashing around us. I become frustrated, and I am envious at times when I see others reacting calmly....But God.... Lord, I pray for grace to endure under pressure, and not to become angry, frustrated and jealous. Forgive me and fill me with Your peace.
I enjoyed listening to the message today. A reminder to act and not react. Well said.
It has been said that anger is only 1 step from danger the difference is 1 letter.
My family has a generational history of anger and violence. We are praying together and seeking help to overcome this. This devotional is spot on what I need in the journey to healing I'm on with my family.
ord thank you for forgiving us as we try to to remain calm and wise during these tulmatous times. Help us to watch our words and actions, and be loving and kind to one another. Help us spread the love and peace that many long for, in this I pray to the Lord, Amen.
Peaceful living hard simply because we live in a hostile world plagued and broken by sin. This is also why it is difficult to choose patience and understanding over anger. The writer say is the cost of quick anger leads to folly and jealousy "rots the bones" (ie destroys our support, strength and inner framework). It is helpful to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the unseen evil influences of Satan and sin. May the grace of God endow us with His Spirit to rightly respond to injustices and trials.
Heavenly Father, Please help my family to have unity and be slow to anger and trust in you. After the death of our brother our mom had massive stoke. She is not expected to make it past a couple of days. Fill us with your peace and be able to come together peacefulMy with the difficult decisions that await us.
Dear heavenly father please be with me to have the patience to help with the settling of my late husbands estate.

Abba Father i need you help me to overcome anger I can overcome only thru ur help hear me and save father
Anger is an emotion that responds to wrong actions that are aimed toward you or others. The difficulty is we often don’t have the full picture and motive behind the action. Our anger often leads to sin because we are ultimately saying God I don’t like your plan for me right now. We must learn to trust in the Lord Jesus in all moments so we can have the correct emotion for the situation by trusting and loving more than getting angry and upset. Lord Jesus help us to live for and by you. Amen
He Loves you ❤️

Anger has been my down fall for the last few years. I pray I learn patience and the ability to keep quiet until I can speak with kindness, love and understanding.
I don’t want to have any anger, nor jealousy toward my sister, or brothers. Lord, I am asking that you come into my heart, and fill it up with your love.
I like to see others get blessed because I have been blessed and I'd rather see people doing well, versus being downtrodden homeless, etc. Because God's love covers a multitude of sin so we don't have to be jealous of others. We can become slow to anger when we try to seek the root cause Even In the Heat of our frustration trying to get understanding recognize we can agree to disagree
I'll admit that I've had a hair-trigger temper on occasion. It's not good, but, being that I'm human, I've got to confess that weakness.
Great to meditate on and grow in grace and knowledge with the kingdom of God in mind CG
I think I have learned how so far. Thank you that meant a lot to be able to read that today!!! God Bless!!!
This process of thinking and react over situations in life remained me the words of our savior Jesus Christ he said “ learns from me , for My joke is light and I am gentle in heart ❤️. “.
