Do We Have to Go to Church?

April 14

Read Colossians 3:16 (NIV)

Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Why is fellowship with other brothers and sisters in Christ important?

Sunday mornings are notoriously tough mornings among church-going families. It takes a lot to get everyone up, out of bed, fed, dressed, and out the door. It can be tempting to just let everyone sleep in, relax, and have a lazy day on the weekend. Because of the pandemic, many of us have gotten used to tuning in to church from our couches! We can listen to a sermon online or check out a Christian podcast. Plus, sometimes we get too busy with sports and activities. Is there really a need to physically go to church and meet together face to face?

The Bible says yes. Why? Because we need each other! In today’s verse, Paul says to let God’s Word dwell among us richly. We know that we need God’s Word to dwell in us individually. But having God’s Word tucked away in our hearts is not just for us. It is supposed to dwell in us richly which means that we can afford to be generous with it! From this wealth it should pour out of us to others. Paul says that we should be teaching each other. We should be warning and encouraging one another. We should worship God together and give thanks together. We do need to be together!

The author of Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” We aren’t meant to walk through the Christian life alone. God has given us the gift of each other. To spur each other on. To love and encourage one another.

The Christian life is not easy. In fact, the Bible teaches us many times that this world is full of trials and tribulations. But God has given us His Word and in it, He tells us to stick together. After all, we are the body of Christ, not the bodies of Christ. We aren’t meant to be lone agents for Him but a unified group.

Friend, please do not make skipping church a habit. Go to church to hear the Word of God preached. Go to church to teach and learn from each other. Go to church to receive wisdom, truth, admonishment, and encouragement. Go to church to sing to the Lord as one voice with your brothers and sisters in Christ. Go to church to worship and praise God for all that He has done.

Father, thank You for my church family. Please guard my heart against laziness and help me to keep my priorities straight. Remind why it’s important to fellowship with other believers. They are a gift that You have given help to help me stand strong in the faith. Amen.

My Lord and my God, You created the church and gave it its significance by your authority and leadership. Help me to remember that You are still the Head of the church and I am Your servant.

Let's us not forget "Church" is Jesus not a building! Thus meaning we here are together "His" Church not a building in which one may walk into. Often we forget that we are to Love one another within judgement for it is not ours to do. Here at Back to The Bible we are brother's and Sisters The The Family of Christ. Though we may not see each other face to face, yet we see from our hearts not our eyes. Thus we are here Uplifting encouraging, praying, for each other because again we are the Church. What is important as Pastor Nat stated, is you must find that building that you walk into that speaks The Word of "God" not man. Often this is hard to do because people go into a building to learn but yet instead find what is not true, gossip, lies, untrustworthy of others. Why because we are already in The "House" of God. There in again so important to find that building that is there filled with true "Christians" filled with The Word of God not again man.

Thus again why Pastor Nat says find that building that is filled with what I stated God's Truth children Love. Pastor Nat and I have spoken on this issue of The Holly Bible for me I do not will not read NIV for it leaves God out! God's word comes from KJV leading into NKJV. Words make the difference because they are "God's" Truth/Words not of a translation leaving Him out. Simply look at the verses of today with your heart then your eyes you will feel and see the difference. I don't know Pastor Nat face to face but I do know him because he is of God! When you share your fears, shame, sin here it is safe without judgement. In knowing that you are with other children of God who will support you in every way possible, without judging because again it is not our right but instead to remind each other Nothing can stand against The Power of our God! We are free to truly Love help each other which makes us a "Church" not just a Church but "God's" Church.

Remember Father tells us we are to lay down our lives for our friends because He did and remains to do today. Nothing can steal His Love from Nothing! There in when that darkness "tries" to steal our Joy we can look up and say No, I am a child of God I belong to Him, He belongs to me, He Lives within me. Forget not that a Smile, call, text, video can make that difference between one of our brothers and sisters saying I can't do this, for we remind them yes you can, we are children of God. I am here telling you never are you "alone" even when truth be told is never really told unless you "listen" and the see that person hurting. I say what I say as someone who has faced more storms than I care to admit but I'm still here because God lead me here to Church knowing I needed my brothers and sisters to lift me pray for me and they have. In doing so with each storm I "feel" the pain and am reminded I am Loved no matter what because we are made of The Image of God! He has showed me when my heart felt like cement that He is alive within my every Pain with me I'm not alone nor are any of us.

Father Blessed be Thy name I Pray You would Uplifting anyone who is feeling less than to remind them that we are good enough because we are as You have made us to be. That Lord You see us even when that answer doesn't come. Father Forgive us when we say Lord I need this soon for as You Father have said "soon" can be right now 20 years from now or when You call us "Home". Father I will Trust You with all my Heart because You have never Failed me yet, for my only "Hope" Father is You. I Praise and Thank You Father for enlarging what I thought I knew as "my" family. For I had no idea till You as You have and will continue to do lead me to Your Will, Plan for this "Spirit" of You. Lord I ask I Pray given this request to you surrendering it all to You, in The only Mighty name of Jesus Christ Amen.

16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
Thank You Jesus for never letting us go.
