All One in Christ - Your Daily Forward Devotional

All One in Christ

November 3

Read Galatians 3:26-29

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Reflect

What divisions do you notice among the children of God in our time?

We are one in Christ Jesus. Paul reminded the people of this truth over and over again.

But there were many who wanted to cling to the distinctions made in the law. For example, Judaziers wanted to claim that Gentiles had to convert to Judaism to come to Christ.

But Paul reiterated that those who put their faith in Christ Jesus are all children of God. No exclusions. And no one is better than another. The Jews can trace their lineage directly to Abraham and rightfully claim to be heirs of the promise made to him. But in Jesus, even those of us who are not Jews are considered spiritual sons and daughters. We are co-heirs of the promise and thus, we are equal to Jews in our spiritual inheritance.

Jesus broke down the barriers that once separated us. If we have placed our faith in Jesus, we are all on equal footing. Paul also taught about this division that was once between Jew and Gentile because of the law in Ephesians 2. Ephesians 2:14-16 says, “For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of two, thus making peace, and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility.”

Friends, there are many who try to cause divisions in the church still today. But this should not be. On the cross, Jesus reconciled all of us to God. If we are in Christ, we are all His children. Let’s live in unity with each other.

Pray

Father, thank you for making us one in You Son. You are our peace. Thank You for extending the promise of salvation to all of us. Amen.

This spoke so heavy to me I am on a spiritual journey being somewhat forced to believe Christianity is the most high way to Christ but I just know that isn’t so I am very spiritual person why do I need a religion I just need GOD
Thank you for the very prompt word. There is so much division in the church today. But I am thankful for The Word of God, that helps us regain our perspective of who He is and whose I am. Thank you Lord for this ministry.
DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER;JESUS PLEASE I NEED YOUR HELP@*THANKYOUJESUS*
Amen 🙏
Thank you for sharing the word of God to us with clarity. God bless
Almighty God, thank You that there are no Jew or Greek, no black or white, just one in Christ Jesus. Thank You Lord Jesus for Your finished work on the cross.
God bless u
Beautiful passage of Scripture about the unity of God's people.
This is a true and faithful saying, that we are one in Christ Jesus.
Lord, You are creator of all. You are the One and Only true living God. I put my faith and trust in You. Thank You for Your Son Jesus and for His love in saving us all, no one better than the other, all children of God. Help us to unite and be One in Christ. In the mighty name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
It really seems so simple...God and His Son Jesus are the answer to true peace. But it is man who tries to to interpret it in his way to make it "better" and just make it so convoluted.
Praise the wisdom of a loving God who United all of us through his son and our lord and Savior, Jesus The Christ.
So many “churches” with differing views on who is the “most correct”. Each claiming the honor but the above reading reminds us we are one through Jesus Christ.
Yes; we are ALL children of God and as such should love one another and get along always.
Amen. God does love each of us individually and collectively. Least we never forget.
A very comforting reminder that all of us who have faith in Christ’s words belong as one family. As Thanksgiving approaches May each of us who love and worship the Savior be especially thankful for the cross. We are one with him and he loves each of us. Amen
Thank You for the words of togetherness we need Joy
Thank you Pastor Nat for reiterating this truth to us today which brings great joy! May we all hold fast to it! Lord Jesus, thank You for making me, and all my brothers and sisters a "new creation in You," by what You did on the cross. We're now co-heirs and one with You; and nothing in all creation can ever separate us from You and Your great love! Amen🙏!
Jesus Christ is the common bond among all people.
We all who believe and trust in Jesus are his children. We are all in his family. Even if I am not as good as others I am so thankful to be a part of the family of God. Thank you Jesus. Amen
Lord thank you. Amen.
I would like to see the church of Christ united in one voice and action, I know our God works for that.
Thank you pastor Nat and I thank God for today
Christ is the answer
Christ is the only answer
Truth...Amen by the grace and help of God.
We believe we can use Scripture to show a misunderstanding of what is commonly understood to be the meaning. Remember, the church did not endure sound doctrine and we went through many centuries of darkness before beginning to return to light again during the reformation. This comment is not to cause division, but rather to bring us to a unity of faith. We hope we will be given an opportunity to share a more clear understanding of one passage (Romans 6:3-7) that is commonly misunderstood. Remember death comes (1 Corinthians 15:16) before we are born again by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead (1 Peter 1:3) to be IN Christ, and a believer was not justified by being joined together with His Spirit into His death (AND justified by the Spirit of our GOD = 1 Cor. 6:10, Romans 3:30, 1 Cor. 12:13 = not water) until their heart was circumcised of the sins of the flesh by the Spirit. This is why a believer was spiritually crucified with Christ to put off the affections and lusts of the flesh (Galatians 5:24) as they were conformed to a likeness of His death first (Philippians 3:10) to be justified by being baptized with the Spirit into Christ Jesus and His death and raised from the dead with Christ in His resurrection by being quickened together with His Spirit to be one with GOD the Father and the Son (John 17:21, 1 Cor 6:7) as the righteousness of GOD (2 Cor. 5:21) and a new creation IN Christ (1 Cor. 5:17). Peter mentioned Paul having said some things are "hard to understand." This is because during the transition from all being dead as descendants of the first Adam to all being made alive in Christ, there were 1) Gentiles without Christ who were reconciled to GOD by first receiving the Spirit of adoption and conformed to a likeness of JC and His death to be grafted into the good olive tree as a son of Israel, and there were 2) those born into the world with the Spirit of Christ as descendants of Israel (Jacob) who were members of the good olive tree that were saved from being bound by the Law by being buried with the Spirit of Christ into His death when they were justified (providing they were just, in having their heart circumcised) and saved by being quickened together with the Spirit of Christ, and 3) there were those born into the world with the Spirit of JC in them received at conception as a descendant of parents having the Spirit of JC in them. This is where we are today, many are born holy into the world with the Spirit of JC in them received through their parents (1 Cor 7:14) at conception. A child of GOD is not saved by being made alive in Christ until they come to repentance,..........."prodigals" need to overcome the world to be made alive in Christ and then go on to "perfection." The "just" (G1342 those who practice righteousness) "live" are quickened together with the Spirit to be saved. Let him who is righteous (G1342 adjective) be justified (G 1344 verb) yet (Rev. 22:11). We live in a world where there is too much "ear tickling" because church leaders do not want to "scare away" believers by explaining the need for repentance. Too many believers continue to live in the world and sin and they believe they have been saved because that is the way they are being taught. But we can trust and have peace, because He who began a good work in us will complete it. In the name of the Lord Jesus,.........may GOD bless
This verse certainly removes all racism, we are just one body in Christ Jesus, Period!
Thank you, Pastor Nat, for this uplifting message today.
