Day 20
All Ye Faithful
O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem;
Come and behold him
~from “O Come, All Ye Faithful”
What a gift God has given us in the Church! Believers in Christ are called to come together for mutual edification and corporate worship. It is a privilege and an honor for “all ye faithful” in Christ to come together and “behold him” in praise and adoration.
Paul instructed in 1 Corinthians 14:26, “When you meet together, one will sing, another will teach, another will tell some special revelation God has given, one will speak in tongues, and another will interpret what is said. But everything that is done must strengthen all of you” (NLT) and that is exactly why God created the church—so that each member can be strengthened by the others.
God has not left us as orphans, but has adopted us into His family. Therefore our fellow believers are brothers and sisters in God’s family, and we should “not forsake the assembling of ourselves together” (Hebrews 10:25). Instead, we should always be “teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in [our] hearts to the Lord”
In other words, “Come, all ye faithful…come let us adore Him”!
