Day 11
Come Peasant, King
So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
Come Peasant, King to own Him
The King of Kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
~from “What Child Is This?”
God didn’t make Himself known only to the poor shepherds. And He didn’t reveal Himself only to the elite Wise Men. Jesus is for all people.
Jesus came for the rich and the poor. He came for men and women. He came for black people, white people, and every color in between—Jesus came for all.
Galatians 3:28 says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Jesus has no prejudice. He does not discriminate. He does not show favoritism. “The Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” (1 Samuel 16:7).
Jesus invites both peasants and kings to make Him their own. The King of Kings brings salvation to all who will call upon Him. When we lay aside our prejudice, our bigotry, and our discrimination, we become more like Jesus!
