Relationships matter. We can live alone, but it is difficult to thrive alone.
Why? Why are relationships so important to us? It's because we were made in the image of God (Gen. 1:27).
And we can't miss what God said in Genesis 1:26, "Then God said, 'Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground.'”
Notice God said, "us." God is one, but He says, "us." Why? Because God has always existed as the Trinity.
For eternity God has been in perfect and perpetual relationship with Himself. Theologians call this "the dance" of God.
This is why you desire relationships. You desire to dance through life just like God has.
Reflect: Read John 14:15-27. In verses 16-17 and 25-27 Jesus says he will send the Holy Spirit. How does Jesus describe the Spirit? What is the relationship between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit?
Respond: How does it change your life to know you have the Counselor in you?
