Read:
Romans 2:12-16

All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law. 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God’s sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous. 14 (Indeed, when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature things required by the law, they are a law for themselves, even though they do not have the law. 15 They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.) 16 This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares.

Reflect:

What happened in this passage?

What does this passage tell us about God?

What does this passage tell us about people?

What does this passage tell us about the relationship between God and man?

Respond:

What will you do differently because of this passage?

God gives us a chance over and over again to repent and He loves us abundantly but the time will come when you will not have the chance to ask for forgiveness, abide about your sinful ways,,,,God is here

Most of the pastors compare cancer with good and evil, I think this hurts those survived, lost their loved ones and struggling to survive, this creates an comaparitive standard that cancer is comparable with sin or evil ... There are many other choices we have than choosing cancer ... Hope we care about the cancer survivors and their families

This comparison I have seen in any other languages also from back to the Bible teachers like Tamil

In March my wife found out she has cancer. In April she had surgery. In June she started 28 treatments of radiation and 2 doses of chemo, now she has to take a higher dose of chemo with 2 medication every 3 weeks for 4 sessions. Her dad passed away from liver cancer, my sister passed away from cancer and I know that they gave their hearts over to God for salvation and we will see them with a new glorified body. I often thought that maybe God might be punishing me in some way, but that's not true. We are all going to pass away some day whether it's quick or prolonged for a while. What we do in our life, living for God, letting others know that God loves you and gave His son for you, to die on the cross for us and offer us a FREE gift to spend eternity with Him. There might be a patient or patients that could be touched by her testimony and mine that will turn their life over to God. Wow amazing. 🙏

Thanks for your feedback, Isaac. Human examples are always at a deficit when comparing them to God, sin, etc. And I think, though cancer is a painful reality for us all, it does hold strong comparatively. We can get cancer, but there are cures. Sin has a cure. The difference is of course, the gift of salvation is sure. Other treatments are not. But like cancer some survive and provide encouragement for those battling it.

What comparison or illustration would you use?
