Who Did Jesus Claim to Be? - Hard Questions

There are many titles we call Jesus. Jesus is the good shepherd. He is the way. He is truth. He is the life. He is the Mighty God. He is the Son of God.

These weren't creative marketing titles, these reflect the truth of Jesus.

But who did Jesus claim to be?

The book of John has some of the clearest teachings of Jesus' deity.

In John 10, Jesus makes a bold claim about himself. "I and the Father are one...do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’?" (John 10:30,36).

Jesus stated that He is God. That statement was deeply problematic for the religious leaders (John 10:22-42).

His problem is still problematic for the world.

The question is will how will you allow His words to change your life today?

Reflect: Read John 10:22-42. Why are Jesus' words problematic for religious leaders? How would you summarize Jesus' declaration?

Respond: How can you show your belief in Christ's deity? What will you do to surrender your life to Him?

I am a Christian. I believe that Jesus died for my sins. I believe that He says He is the Son of God. I want to have a closer walk with Him.
