Is hell fair? As you saw in this video, the answer is yes. Hell is fair. No one is without excuse. But the flipside of the question could be "Is heaven fair? Think about it. Hell is where sinful people go. Sinners deserve hell. It's fair.
But who gets to heaven? Paul gives us the answer in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."
Who gets to heaven? The righteous. So is heaven fair? Not for sinners. No way. That's why the gift of salvation is described as "grace." We didn't deserve it. We didn't earn it. It's a gift. It is not fair.
When we remember that God's gift is truly free, it should radically change how we view God and how we live our lives.
Reflect: Read Matthew 7:21, Ephesians 2:10, and Galatians 5:19-21. What do these passages teach us about the difference salvation makes?
Respond: What needs to change in your life to reflect your salvation?
