Read Genesis 3.

Have you ever wondered why God didn't restrict Adam and Eve from obeying? I have. But one thing I remember from seminary was my professor, who said, "God didn't want robots. He wanted a relationship. If God forced Adam and Eve's obedience, that wouldn't have been love or a relationship."

He was exactly right. I can force my children to comply, but that does nothing for our relationship. I feel no satisfaction when obedience is out of obligation. I want a relationship and the obedience that flows from it.

Because God wanted a relationship, He gave them a choice. Because God wants a relationship, He gives you the same choice. What will you choose?

Reflect: What does free will have to do with the reality of evil? Why does freewill matter in our relationship with God? How does this strengthen your view of God?

Respond: It’s easy for us to attempt to control other people. But God gives us the ability to choose. How can you allow others’ choices to learn about God?

Please share your comments below. I'd also love to know what your questions are so I can answer them in the weeks ahead.

I too im this relation with God and Jesus Christ, it is better for God that he had given us choices on the way either we make good or bad, hopefully there will be good choices over the bad choices.
