Do you ever feel you're too bad for God? Maybe you do because you were constantly criticized by a parent. Maybe you feel too bad for God because your spouse (or former spouse) constantly compared you to someone else. Maybe you feel too bad for God because you've got that one sin you would never confess to anyone.
Regardless of why you may feel this way, God doesn't love you because of what you do (or have done), He loves you because of who you are in Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 says, "For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago."
God makes us His masterpiece -- a work of art. How? By our track record? By our following His Word? Hardly. No, God makes us His masterpiece by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8-10).
It is true apart from God, we are too bad for Him. But by God's grace, we are His masterpiece.
The question is will we live like it?
Reflect: Read Ephesians 2:1-10. Why does Paul compare our natural state with our forgiven state? What does this teach us about God? About ourselves?
Respond: How do God's grace and our sinfulness motivate you to share the good news? Who will you share it with today?
