Do you ever feel like a mistake? I think we all do. One of the reasons people feel this way is they look at their life (and their mistakes) and feel like they've blown it.
And on one hand, it's true. We are sinful creatures. We sin... a lot.
But on the other hand, if you are a Christian, God does not see your sin. He sees Christ in you.
Listen to how King David captures this thought: "For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth. He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him" (Psalm 103:11-13).
You are no mistake. Sure, you may sin still. But as His child, God says, "You are forgiven. You are loved. Let's try again."
That's the kind of Father we all need. And that's the kind of father we have.
Reflect: Read Psalm 103. What does this Psalm teach us about God? About ourselves?
Respond: What should our response be to our compassionate and tender Father?
