To serve as a child of God.

My life's sentence is to listen, ecouage and help people with their struggles regardless of how I'm personally feeling. I want people to say (you know Carolyn really knew how to listen and validate my feelings..she knew how to reframe my thoughts so that in the end, my problem might still be there, but I'm looking at it on a whole new perspective).

Some people know I "feel broken".. I think I hide it fairly well. (Not here, because I share) but in my real world... the people that do know how they feel, I want them to remember that (Carolyn pushes herself to always try to make others feel good and appreciated, regardless of how broken she feels).

Is this selfish?????? I honestly don't know.

Your life sentence reminds me of 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

I think we need to use discernment when sharing our burdens. Sometimes it's the right thing to do. It helps the body and helps with reaching others. And at other times our motives are off so it does more harm then good. So to answer your questions about making others feel good, this can be a good thing. Encouragement and edification are biblical values. And so is the transparency you share. It's a bit of a dance.

A great reminder, that we need to live intentionally, on purpose because we are not our own, we were bought with a price. Whatever that sentence is if we live our lives well it should bring glory back to God. Something we should all think about. Thank you Pst. Nat for the reminder and always encouraging us to stay on course with purpose in mind.
