Thanks for sharing. I pray it continues to pay relational and spiritual dividends. It's amazing how much difference a little bit of service and open up God-sized doors!
Service can be hard for me. It's the time away from the other projects I have. My best friend has the heart of a servant. It doesn't matter who needs help or what the task is, he serves. I pray that I become like this!
Thanks for sharing! I saw Jordan a couple of years ago with Skillet. Talented young man!
You got that right!
So great. Yes, giving up our time is a hard thing to do, but it's amazing what a simple act of kindness can do. I pray it's a rewarding experience!
That's great, Clyde. A simple word of encouragement or noticing the good things people do will change a person's day. Keep up the encouragement! It makes a big difference!
My wife and I have been blessed to give more and more away. When a server gets that big tip or the person gets the unexpected blessing, they light up. And I always have to check my motives. You are in a special field. People won't remember the waterfall in the lobby or the paintings hanging on the walls. They will remember you and the care you provide. Keep up the great work!
Motives are interesting. They matter to God. And then in Philippians 1 Paul says about some competing evangelists who were preaching Christ out of wrong motives. But Paul said, "Who cares about the motives as long as the gospel is preached." Fascinating. We all need to check out motives. It's true for all areas of life. But we also need to rest in God's grace when we aren't sure. Carolyn, you're always a welcome conversation here. Thanks for being part of the GT family.
John 7:40-52 Division Among the People
I have felt called to help a neighbor who has had a knee replacement. I have trimmed and edged his yard and pulled some weeds in the flower beds. It has made a difference to him and has helped him out when he could not do it himself. It feels great to step up and do something for someone else without being asked to do it or expecting to be paid back in some way. That is what Jesus would do.
Thank you for this message. I need to serve more. I remember the song I Will Serve Thee. A lot of good words in the song. We as Christians need to serve others as Jesus does for us.
Tank you pastor Nat That is so true and I am trying any teams like I do not get anywhere
Thank you Pastor Nat for this teaching. Indeed.we are here to save. God help us to be God's workmanship.. Amen.
Joey, my Brother in Christ, your post was beautiful!!!!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who uses my cellphone to write down scriptures... I have all these labels...like (Scriptures to Memorize), (Scriptures that I read during a devotional that I found helpful). Some I have the time to actually type out the text. Others are just the reference then next to I say things like "read for encouragement" or "read for strength". Funny I can't believe in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep and was just praying. I thought to write a new note labeled (Pastor Nat's Teachings). I also added one that are just great sentences I've read in devotionals.. Like "do everything for the Glory of the Lord". And "Lord, make me an instrument of your Peace". these statements I'm writing down what day and what Devotional I got it from. I know for some it might be quirky.. but I like it. I'm so grateful for my BTTB Family!!! We TRULY ARE HERE to ENCOURAGE and LISTEN to each other!!!! Thank you for being my Friend. Peace and Blessings to you!! 😇🙏😇🙏😇
Be a servant for Jesus.
My Dear Sister in Christ and true Friend Thank You for your help and reply. It has been a Blessing to me to have met you here. I put Bible verses in my text to me daily to remind me when that ugly tries to come, I can open them up and be reminded that We are children of God. Remember You are "Worthy" because of being a child of Jesus Christ. One day we will all meet and what a day that will be. Always in my prayers. https://youtu.be/R1EwKwayzLM

*JESUS IS #1*
Amen we are here to be and live as Jesus did and does. To " serve" all others as Jesus served. We are to give without asking back without seeking to be noticed for the giving. We must remember that we are all shapes of Love, The Love of Jesus Christ Our Savior. We are a one family through and in Jesus. Remember we are His Church. Father I Praise and Thank You for Your Faithfulness. Lord sometimes we forget that we are to mimic You, a little more like Mercy, Grace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, more like You Jesus less like us. Father I Thank You for a bigger family You have given us here at Back to The Bible. Here we can do just that remind, Uplift, Inspire and encourage each other in Your Word. Nothing but The Blood of Jesus can wash us clean forever Father I will Praise Your name come what may for I know You are alive within us. Thank You Lord in Jesus Christ name Amen. Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God.” “When you can’t give more, when you’ve gone beyond your ability to give, then sit still. Call on the Holy Ghost and angels to come to you. Be still and get full.” 26 Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. 8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for "love will cover a multitude of sins." 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen. 10 For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister. https://youtu.be/3MKP3SkzkIA
You too Elizabeth !
Yes, there is just something so joyful about giving. I'm a crime victim advocate, so I assist victims of crime though the criminal justice process... I reach out to victims who have been assaulted, menaced by people, criminal mischief, harassment... just about anything that a person can be a victim in. So I hear a lot of painful stories everyday and give people upsetting news on a regular bases. So when I hear how just listening to them and not being judgemental is so helpful. And then I get a "Thank You for listening to me, you are a blessing", my heart gets filled with joy. 😊
Yes Deborah!!! That's awesome!!!!! 💕😇🙏
Clyde what a truly beautiful person you truly are!!! You make people smile every day and that is such a gift!! May God continue to put people in your path in which you can encourage and support!!! 💕😇🙏
Right back at you Elizabeth!!! 🙂
Amen! My brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus our Lord's body. Together we stand strong! Through Him anything is possible , Amen! We can do this!! Love you all!! 🙏
Thank you, Lord. Amen.
Amen
Amen! This is powerful
I think Carolyn that we love the feeling and a truly happy because God intended that for us. To give and help.
A friend recently lost his wife and asked me to help him with cleaning once a week I hesitated to do this but after hearing today's message I will go and serve where Jesus leads and I will be blessed by doing so thank you Jesus
This was a great reminder to all of us. I have taken this and I usually each day, send a text to a friend who is struggling and I find uplifting reminders of what God means to all of us. We uplift those who feel depressed and not worthy and I let them know that they are a child of God and he makes no mistakes on his creations. We are his masterpiece!! God Bless you all!!
That is beautiful Maureen. Being a nurse must be so rewarding. I'm sure you're wonderful at it!!!!! I too love the feeling I get when I help someone. It brings me such joy. Sometimes it's as little as saying "Please and Thank Yous" to store employees, being patient when waiting in line, offering a smile (though these days it's hard to see with a mask on) lol But giving really is a Joy of life. May you have a day full of offering your blessings and service to all of your patients!! God bless you!! 💕😇🙏😇💕
Amen Amen 🙏🏽
As someone who has been working in healthcare as a nurse first and now a Nurse Practitioner I know it is extremely humbling and joyful to work with those in need, helping them. I learned a long time ago, as a young nurse to..check myself... there is no glory for myself when someone else is suffering. Even outside of my profession, it truly does bring joy to ‘give’ and watch peoples reactions when they ‘get’. . I am happy then. And happiest when the Lord gives me more of His Word . It’s then I can give more to those I come in contact with every day, more prayer, more healing, more of myself. Thank you Father!
Amen, sharing is caring andcwe all should try it,God bless.
This lesson was very hard for me to listen too. It's beyond strange... I've has insomnia tonight and I was up really early just reading devotionals asking God how I "can trust in his Faithfulness". Then I had this idea (I use the "notes" in my phone A lot)... so I decided to make a note labeled something like (Pastor Nat's teachings) things that were so helpful at the time I read them.... then I kind of let them slip away into my mind. Well I came up with a few: "Enjoy the Ride"; and I swear I wrote "Do things not to earn God's love, but because of it". How mysterious God works. Because Pastor Nat used that same phrase today. God is obviously trying to tell me something. I guess I'm really afraid of my "motives" for serving sometimes. Like I am very involved in my church. I am a Lector, a Eucharist Minister and pre covid, helped with coordinating our Mass. The thing is, I don't feel humble. I feel proud. I know I do a great job at reading scripture. It makes me feel good and honored, not meek and humble and thus serving God. I never really know how to balance this. Like the humbleness of serving, yet feeling proud and being in the spotlight at the same time. God please send people, or circumstances, into my life today in which I can serve. Even in the smallest of ways. Help me to serve with meekness and humbleness as you always did. Show me how to balance all my emotions around this. In Jesus's name do I offer up this prayer. Amen 🙏
