This will be the most important matter for our lives today and every day.
As many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. Gal. 3:27 The fruit of the Spirit includes self-control. Gal. 5:22-23 Therefore; they that belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. Gal. 5:24 We understand that holidays, foods, dress, circumcision, the letter of the law, is not important. What is important is the spirit of the law; sincere love. Deut. 10:16,19, Rom. 2:28, Gal. 5:14-18. Therefore what avails anything is faith that works by love, Gal. 5:6 because love is what Christ and His apostles taught. [ Matthew 7:12-28, Romans 13:8-10, John 14:21-24, 1 Corinthians 16:22, 1 John 2:3-4, 4:8, 2 John 1:9-10, 1 Timothy 6:3-4 ] Not by works of righteousness we have done, but by His mercy God saved us, by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost, which He shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior. We have the Holy Spirit therefore each sincere believer can and will experience lasting change toward righteousness, for the Holy Spirit grants each believer self-control, the ability to control our own selves.
