Lord Jesus, You are the reason why I live. Had it not been for Your loving kindness, where would I be? And so I thank You for loving me, for forgiving me and for saving me from the wrath to come. Help me to live for You every day that I live. I want to be an instrument of used by You to show others just how loving You are.

I was raised in a Christian family. My parents were missionaries living in Equador, where I was born. When I was a kid, I remember my sister teaching me that I should make my own decision to accept and fallow Jesus and I did it. But when I was a teenager, that was when I really understand what she meant and I chose to accept Jesus as my savior. Almost seven years later, my family and I went through some terrible experience (My sister and my niece were killed and I almost was killed, too) so I got really mad at God, but I knew He was my only hope, so I manage to keep holding tight to Him (well, the truth is that He didn't abandon me and He hold me near Him). When I didn't want to read the Bible or listening to sermons, my friend made me an invitation to work for Gotandem translating the messages, and that was the way God used to keep talking to me. Now I still have difficulty trusting Him. But I want to do it again and I know He is helping me to get there. I love Jesus and I know He does what He wants and that only He has the control of everything in this life. So I decided to thank Him for everything, even the painful things that happen in my life, because He knows best.

I was raised in a denomination that baptizes babies and children, and then when you are in the eighth grade you go through confirmation class like a herd of cattle and say with a group that you believe. Then you are a member of the church. I had always loved God and believed I was a Christian. Then, on February 22, 1970, when I was sixteen, I went to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with my parents. As we were walking through the parking lot to go in, there was a man standing there passing out something, I didn’t know what, but I took it and put it in my pocket. When I got home, just before I went to bed, I got it out and read it. It was a little booklet of Bible verses that explained salvation. I eagerly read it, and when I got to the end where I could pray the “sinner’s prayer”, I was on my knees beside my bed immediately, praying it. I had been in church since I was three years old, but no one had ever told me how to be saved.
