Lord Jesus, let Your Word be the entire occupation of my heart as I go about my business. keep my eyes from wandering and my heart from lusting after the flesh. All I need, You have already given, and I thank You for Your grace to be humble and obedient to Your Word, Amen.

Lord Jesus, wash me thoroughly from my sin and help me keep my heart pure from the temptations of the world. Keep me clean from being polluted (in body and mind) so that I may enjoy Your nearness and live to tell others of Your great love.

How is a widower to please his sexual fulfillment? I was married to my childhood sweetheart for over 40 years when she died. I don’t believe I will marry again but I still have sexual tendencies.

I was married for almost 42 years when my husband died. I worked through my grief with the help of a Christian ministry called GriefShare. In one of the sessions they pointed out the need to seek the Lord’s help to maintain purity and warned about the dangers of getting back in relationship too soon—even legitimate dating. I worked through my grief and God brought another man to me. He will provide.

Hey Douglas. Paul said in 1 Cor. 6:18 that we are to flee sexual immorality. In other words, the temptation will come, but we need to stay far away and run when it comes near. I have no doubt the loss is immense with the loss of a long-term spouse. That desire is natural. It is God created but meeting a legitimate need in an illegitimate way is sin. God knows your heart and desires. Perhaps there is a new helpmate in your future. But if not, God says, "Be faithful. My grace is sufficient for you."
