Practice Makes Perfect - Win the Day

Joey, my Brother in Christ, your post was amazing. I really needed to read it today.

It's a lesson I really need to learn... to just focus my heart on Jesus and let him do the rest.

Yesterday I was talking to someone about Pastor Nat's post (about which things are worldly and which activities are Christ Like). I really was struggling with it.... only because I don't do social media much.... and is watching a stupid "Life Time Movie"... (they're just stupid, you don't need to think kind of cheesy movies.. most females have heard about at least).. any way. .. I guess they aren't religious, but are they worldly??

I was trying to explain this to someone... and they got so frustrated with me. All they could say was that "I pretty much complicate everything"... and I overthink and kind of ruin things.

I've heard that my entire life. I do overtime things.... sometimes I just can't get my brain to stop thinking...................

I almost thought about stopping this study, because I felt like I was back sliding so far.. . And was almost at a point of living in such fear. And that is not a way to live.

But I signed on today... and I'm glad I did. But it really brings up intense feelings for me. And these feelings sometimes linger for hours upon hours.........

I just don't understand it. I don't want to be like this...... I know in theory if I can control my thinking then I know I'll be happier, in general. I've known that my entire life.... I just can't seem to do it.

Funny when my job was almost all remote, I got into this "rhythm I was talking about"....... I didn't see many people, which was weird.... but it was sort of okay..

Now I feel like I'm getting thrown back into the rat race. Every few weeks things change.... and I'm really out of balance....

I'm scared.

Your post was nice to read. I guess on my mind, I feel like I'm in "survival mode". Survival to not run from God, survival to not let Satan play mind games with me... just survival in general.

I wish I could explain it better...... I just can't believe I'm laying on my couch, texting you, with a Lifetime Movie in the background and I'm actually STILL looking at it.. and pondering is this Worldly?? It's stupid. They mostly all are...

But I deal with so much ugliness all day (what people do to each other. The stories I hear of people being victimized)... I guess I need some of these outlets. ...

And it is scary...when I was working mostly from home I would spend 3-4 hours a day engaging in religious activities. I've never had the time to do that .. I did like it.... but I can't sustain it.... and that's messing with my head.....

I literally have to pick and choose what devotionals to read. How much time to spend on scripture.... just find a balance again.... only to adjust it again.

But 2nd time of adjusting should be easier..... just because I've done it once (now).......

I'm really trying my best and I think that I need to be kinder to myself. I know I'm complex and it drives people away.

Hey Kissy! Those things, as you know, are not bad in and of themselves. It's what it can contain, what it can lead us to do, and why we are engaging in it. I find regular abstinence from these things is beneficial! God bless!

Hi Kissy yes true but you can watch shows of Faith in Jesus. There are many out there and an outstanding one is The Chosen. It is the best story I have seen about Jesus and His disciples.
