“For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?”
1 Timothy 3:5 (KJV)

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.

"Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward them for what they have done."

Proverbs 13:11 Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow. Proverbs 22:16 Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty.

Hebrews 13:16
It says that we should be giving in both time and money. It says we should be generous and willing to give anything we can– if we don't have money, we should serve.

As we turn to the Bible for wisdom and discretion, let's meditate on this piece of encouragement: Don't close off your heart when you're in the situation of being asked to give to beggars. “Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you” (Matthew 7:12). Keep your heart soft, and open to the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 22:9 – He who has a generous eye will be blessed, For he gives of his bread to the poor. Proverbs 11:25-26 – The generous soul will be made rich, And he who waters will also be watered himself. The people will curse him who withholds grain, But blessing will be on the head of him who sells it.

There are four types of giving within the Bible… The Tithe, the Seed/Offering, the Firstfruits, and the Alms. It is important to note that three are given to God, and one is given to mankind. The only one given to man is the Alms.

God's motivation for giving was love; he gave himself in the person of Jesus; and God gave in response to our need. ... For Jesus and for us, motivation is everything when it comes to giving. A disciple of Jesus will give because of his/her gratitude for God's gifts so freely given.

Thank You Lord for Your Word that Teaches us how to live as You did and to live for You, knowing that Love is the only way to give because that Love Begins with You, Father in today's world far to often we forget we are to serve as You served and remain serving us, please Bless us us to remember that serving and giving can be done in such many ways, a smile, kind, word, text, letter, call, babysitting, visiting the elderly, widows, homeless, asking and listen to someone about their day and financially even when we think we can't because Jesus tells us to give freely without selfserving because Jesus will provide our every need, Thank for being such a Good Father Lord is Jesus name Amen

Joey, my Brother in Christ. I liked your post. Yes, there are numerous ways of giving.

I do try to combine a bunch of things. I do believe God tells me where to give financially because it's different each month. I like it that way. It reminds me that it comes from my heart.

I also like to give my time and you're right sometimes a smile can make someone's day. I've experienced my day turning around because someone showed a random act of kindness to me.

I hope this post finds you well.
