Thanks pastor nat for responding to the question. I’m very secure in belief of salvation thu Christ. Sola gradia , Sola fide , solus christus .
By reading some of the comments here at bttb , I’ve noticed that people struggle with this question often .
Some will say , they have always been a Christian . Others rely on baptism . The only thing in common is both attend church , that’s as far as it goes .
This is where I can point to 1st John .
We know passages . Then the proof of our salvation, which is in Christ alone .
It’s not about what I believe it’s more of how to tell if it’s just fluff or authentic salvation in Christ. We all need this ..
As always YBIC Thank you

Hi pastor nat ,
As always, you do a great job explaining the word . What I would also ask , isn’t there passages that we can go to that quality us that we can be more confident when we have doubts??? Like the ones in 1st John. I will sometimes look at these as test for myself . I call these the (we know because)passages . thanks again pastor YBIC

Later this month my book comes out and I look at some famous doubters who leveraged their doubts to strengthen their faith! Chaz, may I ask for a bit more clarity so I can share those passages with you. Are you looking for assurance of salvation passages? Is that what you're looking for?

Thank you for this Pastor Nat. You couldn't be more clearer than this. God help us to rest and enjoy the finished work at the Cross and go make disciples. Amen.

Thank you Pastor Nat for that excellent lesson. It also makes me think of Jesus said continue in his Word and we are indeed his followers (like the disciples) and we will know the truth, and the truth will make us free. Also in the new testament says that faith without works is dead. And as you pointed out from the bible that we are saved through faith, not of works. So we will want to do what Jesus says, which shows our faith and belief in him.
