I have made the choice to believe Jesus and be born again. I was born into Christ once for all, but each morning I call it to mind anew to set the course of my day. It encourages me to know God gives a new heart and mind; I cannot create the new one on my own.
Pastor Nat, WOW! This message was a serious call to the Lordship of Jesus! No middle ground, no excuses, no options, Jesus straight up invites Nicodemus (and us) to make Jesus Lord of all or not at all. Jesus the boss/owner of me.
On the “born of water” debate…contextually it makes sense as a symbolic indicator of repentance like John’s message proclaimed. (Repent and be baptized) One must repent of their sins before the Spirit will live in them. It is almost like a mini Ordo-salutus.
I can also see a shot over the bow of the Pharisees predisposition of Gods Chosen People status. God may have chosen Israel, but that categorical status is meaningless for salvation. If you are born naturally, regardless of your pedigree, you must repent and be born of the Spirit, there is no other hope of salvation.

This correct choice for me has been proven again and again. Religion and my church, do not fulfill my life’s direction and have never done so. I choose to trust Jesus but….I fail and must improve my trust in him everyday. This is where “Back to Bible” is so import. Into the future we go…
Lord Jesus, You have laid out for us the requirements for entering into the kingdom of God. Lord, I want to be transformed into a new creation so that I may be accepted as a possessor of the new birth. Help my understanding of all that You require of me so that I become reborn and thus a member of Your family.
